  1. Mr. EVLXX, That is a really neat website. In fact, it makes me want to do a replacement as-soon-as-possible. (I have some eclectrical gremins starting). Have you done this operation? Do you have any pictures or personal commentary to add? I did my own stator last summer, and I'm feeling lucky! Tx, XXitanium ...damn thing probably only has 1.5 million miles on it, and it's already starting to fail! sigh, no, more like 78,000 and this might be the second one, I do not remember. I know I have replaced the stator. It's almost broken-in.

  5. My low beam lamp burned out. I need to buy a new bike. ...beautiful.
  6. Thanks guys. I thought they were closer to 150, now I know. ...anybody have one for an early model Hurricane 1000?
  7. What I get from this chart: It's October year-round. http://www.metoffice.gov.uk/public/weather/climate/extremes

  9. You guys don't really have winter. Get a good set of rain gear, a nice set of Avons and don't look back. http://www.cbr1100xx.org/forums/index.php?showtopic=82785#entry969855
  10. http://pecora.com/products/butyl-construction-sealants/default.aspx ....use butyl rubber.
  11. http://inspectapedia.com/BestPractices/Exterior_Caulk.htm Butyl caulk with a bond breaker. The caulk joint with expand and contrat with slab movement some bit through the seasons.
  12. I tried Herculiner on the front bumper, air dam, and brush guard. I'll try to remember to give an endurance report at a later date. I bet this will really be hard to keep clean. It had small particles like roofing granules in it. I don't think junior will care though. I'm betting the only time it gets washed is in a good rain storm. I welded p a new cross piece for the brush guard and took off the wings. It's more of a radiator protector - bull bar now.
  13. I cleaned my battery terminals before work. Maybe it was my imagination, but the lights seemed a tad brighter. I was good till I got to the parking lot again. I made two hard lefthand turns into the lot and it lit up again. ....nothing blinked on the way home though. What's the best place to get an oil filter? Time for a change anyway. Take a reading on the centerstand? I got to the bottom of the flattened part - covered the whole cross-hatch. That's just to the add mark, right? I put some dielectric greease on the terminals while I was at it too.
  14. My FI light has been flickering. I have no running issues. It's very intermittent. It flickered on the way in to work this morning. Checked the oil - I't'd just at the top of the add mark. It didn't flicker at all on the way home. I figure I can't test it if it's not glimmering, so I'll have to wait. I have a spare R/R from a grab box I bought out of the For Sale section. I'll stash it into my tank bag.
  15. This has me curious. Does anyone have a read on this from Yuasa? http://www.yuasabatteries.com/faqs.php?action=1&id=30 ...just wondering how much I mucked it (AGM) up..... http://www.phillipsind.com/upload/reference_material/file_1236015433.pdf So, how does one verify Cold Cranking Amps?

  17. I picked up a little old T100 for my oldest kid. The front bumper is rusted badly. The brush guard is rotting too. I was thinking of getting a new bumper, and also welding in a new cross bar on the brush guard. I'd like to rock guard them for durability. Do any of you guys have experience with rock guarding body parts. What brand is best? I was considering buying a painted bumper. They're cheaper and I think would require less prep work.
  18. I'm not sure I understand what you're trying to explain. http://phys.org/news/2013-04-memory-effect-lithium-ion-batteries.html Are you just describing LI batteries? ....so last summer, when my stator went, I grabbed a brand new AGM over by Sault St Marie. I bolted it in and rode. I ran it dry charged it, ran it dry again, charged it - took out my other head lamp. ...rode for a couple more hours. I stopped at a Harley dealer - They checked and said it was basically "Full". I have the slip they printed out somewhere. FI must not be much of a draw. Having trouble with the quote feature.....
  19. I like the description. .....and.... ....oh man!
  20. I will do a short write-up. I didn't know they existed till I needed to replace one.
  21. All the ones I have are scratched. Thanks for your patience. Most of what I have is functional, but not "near new" by any means. rockmeupto125 - I went and got a set of HVMPs ordered. They are supposed to reduce handlebar vibrations. My wife rides the Hurricane. She has mentioned numbing in her hands. We'll see how well the HVMPs function. Thanks though.
  22. I've got a 913CC build motor kit I bought for $200 - with the rest of a CB750F. I've been reluctant to start. This is the kind of thing I'm worried I'll miss. Thank you for the post. I will remember that.
  23. Got any bar ends? I'm trying to fit my CBR1000F. eBay was tough. ...Hong Kong many weeks delivery. OR http://www.ebay.com/itm/1993-1996-HONDA-CBR1000-HURRICANE-CBR1000F-LEFT-CLIP-ON-HANDLE-BAR-HANDLEBAR-/380646673970?pt=Motorcycles_Parts_Accessories&hash=item58a04f4e32&vxp=mtr
