  1. That sounds like the clutch that I have in my Cobra. A Center Force duel friction. It has weights on it all the way around and as the RPM's go up, the weights press on the fingers putting more pressure on the clutch. I had never heard of it called a lockup clutch though.
  2. So, how does a lockup clutch work?
  3. Is the tire seated evenly around the rim?
  4. I have the LP's also. They looked bright in the garage when I installed them but follow in back of some one else riding it and they were NOT very bright.
  5. Not if you put it on the grill and bake it at 350F for a hour.
  6. Was this one of those self taught hard lessons :?:
  7. I have found in all my years that Dunlops seem to be the highest quality tires around when it comes to needing almost no weight to balance. I have never had a quality issue with a Dunlop. No, you might not get the miles out of them but you do have a good tire to stake your life on.
  8. Yea, I asked this question before when my son got Pilot Sports. He did have trouble getting them right. Stinking French.
  9. Try this thread. http://www.cbr1100xx.org/forum/viewtopic.p...7&highlight=nos
  10. Thanks. I would like to hear how Honda would justify that! Since my closest Honda dealer sells both cars and bikes, maybe I should ask for a washer for the bike and the CR-V and see them try to explain that.
  11. I don't find that to be true with our auto emission testing here in Pa. If the fuel was being unburned, the emissions would be higher with 93 than 87 which I have not found through the years of having the test done.
  12. I think you could skip the filter change to every other one and just do the oil.
  13. My Honda motorcycle dealer did not have the gallon non-premixed antifreeze. Did you get it from a Honda car or bike dealer?
  14. Will Engine Ice keep my little motor from turning into a ice cube this winter?
  15. You guys beat on me about using Dexi-cool (car) anti-freeze, so I thought this winter, I would change to the Honda stuff. The thing you didn't tell me was how much it cost. $4.00 per quart x4=$16.00 per gallon but it is premixed with 50% water, so true cost (compared to Dexi-cool) is $32.00 per gallon! I have two bikes and you already talked me into using Mobil 1 at $22.00 per gallon. You guys are killing me.
  16. Advanced Auto in my area take it for free, used oil that is.
  17. Someone once told me to Never do math in public and I don't. But, we still love you Joe.
  18. The motor will now turn more RPM's at the same MPH, so in theory, yes. In the real world, no.
  19. You could try dropping the Bird by cranking down the rear and slidding the front tubes and if you don't like it, just put it back. No cost but time. You guys laugh about those shoes but at the track this year, a tiny 17 year old girl shows up with a brand new GXR 750. Zero miles, wheelie bars, no foam in the seat at all, both ends of the bike dropped as far as possible. Still, she had custom made boots that looked a lot like those. She had never riden a bike before. Full matching leathers. Dad got it for her. After a few passes, she was hitting the low 11's. Not hard on the eyes either.
  20. What about other things like transmission gears and camshaft lobes?
  21. I did it. I put two one foot drill extentions together and drilled straight through from one end to the other. I made it a little louder but not much. Didn't sound bad but not like a Yosh or something. I don't know how the exhust gets through those stock cans. Oh, I have the Yosh now.
  22. I don't really want to get into this again but remember, the Blackbird has a 11.0 to 1 compression ratio. Cars of the 70's had about 8.0 to1 and now, 9 to 1. Carlos, have you ever tried checking your mileage using 87 and then using 93? I haven't but other have told me that you get get more mpg with the 93.
  23. I told you guys not to use that weak(89) stuff!
