  1. I tend to run slightly less (37 F, 39 R) on all tires that I have used, but I will try going back to 42, 42 to see if this makes any difference. Andrew
  2. The vibration at 140 - 155 kph was entirely eliminated with a new tire (another Pilot Road front). Some very slight vibration remains at 170 kph. Andrew
  3. Thanks for your thoughtful replies! The date code on the tire is 1805, or 18th week of 2005. I will report back after a new tire is installed next Wednesday. Andrew
  4. I just replaced the worn BT020's on my 03XX with Michelin Pilot Roads. The general feel is excellent, but above 140 kph (87 mph), there is a vibration in the front wheel that was not present before the tire change. At 150 - 155 kmph, it feels like I am riding on a knobby tire. There is no wagging or weave or slap, and the ride is very smooth below 135 kph. I returned to the shop (a very trustworthy mechanic) who rebalanced the tire, but this did not help. The shop is ordering in a new tire. Anyone have a similar experience? Many thanks, Andrew 03XX 28.5K km
  5. Many thanks! Please accept my apologies - I see that I should have also searched the PUB forum rather than just THE GARAGE to find messages on this topic. Andrew

    Mirrors

I find that I have a definite blind spot in my left - hand mirror on my 03XX. There is a moment when an overtaking vehicle does not appear in the mirror, and is out of my field of vision even with my head turned fully to the left. The mirror is adjusted as far outward as it will go. I have ridden the XX 12K km, so it is not a matter of getting used to the mirrors of a new bike. I am considering purchasing the mirror extenders sold by Jaws in England. In the meantime, has anyone had any success in angling the mirror out further by a) inserting a washer under the rearward mirror bolt to angle the mounting plate or jamming the mirror at a more outward angle so that it does not spring back into its "home" position? The only relevant posts I have seen on this or other lists referred to the use of "blind spot mirrors" stuck on the mirror, but these were described as unacceptable. Despite this minor issue, the XX is the most outstanding motorcycle I have ever owned or ridden. Thanks, Andrew 03XX
  7. Must the fairing panel be removed in order to remove the radiator cap on my 03 XX? The opening in the fairing does not seem quite large enough to just reach through. I am planning to add Water Wetter. Many thanks. Andrew
