  1. What year, and in km or miles? 2000 Injection Kph , but to be honest I'm not fussy Kph or Mph. Ben
  2. Hi .. CAn anyone tell me what the resistor value is on the back of the Speedo circuit board? My R/r fails and burnt EVERTHING OUT but I have stripped down the clocks and noticed the Zener diode short and R2 O/C. The zener is not an issue , But until I know what resistance R2 should be I'm stuck.... Worth a try if anyone can help? Cheers Ben
  3. Yeh I gues yur right so Ive replaced the R/R .................... now just my clocks and battery to deal with ......Nightmare. Anyone know where I can get cheap clocks or at least the circuit boards.. I need speedo and rev counter FI model? Cheers for the assistance Ben
  4. Had an issue with the R/R , all hell let loose , Battery , lamps, R/R all foocked. And also me clocks got caught up in it. Fried the circuit boards!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I am living out in the middle east (expat) and getting clocks out here is proving to be somewhat of a nightmare!!!!!!!! Costing me fortunes calling UK scrap yards and as yet to no avail. The state of the clocks I need is not an issue as I really only need the circuit boards behind the speedo and the rev counter Can anyone help? Thanks Ben
  5. Can I have a copy of the PDF for the 2000 model?
  6. Guys I have managed to get a hold of a R/R but its different? I think its from a 2001 Model (mine is 2000). The connectors are the same , can anyone confirm if it is compatable? Gonna try it anyway Ill let you know
  7. Thanks guys I too think this is charging circuit, I replaced the alternator and the rectifier about 5 months ago?? Again just CHecked the resistance ... seems ok with no shorts to earth. Checked output of rectifier around 12v at tickover and 14 volts at 5 thou? Can anyone tell me what the voltage of the alternator should be (the 3 yellow wires) to earth and each other as thats the only thing the manual doesnt state??? Should I just go out and buy a new rectifier?? Thanks again guys
  8. What he said. :icon_imwifstupid: marty
  9. Honda Blackbird 2000 injection I was out on the bird yesterday; happily riding along some twisty bits when all of a sudden clocks dropped lights went out (engine kept running though?). It was actually daylight so I made it, rather precariously home to investigate. Main 30amp fuse had blown, So I replaced it and continued to check….. All the lights had blown (not the fuses but the actual lamps?)Headlight, low beam and parking light, tail light and break light, but not the high beam or the instrument panel lights? 3 of the 4 indicators had also blown lamps? Clocks are now dead , except for the fuel gauge and the temp? Recently , about 5 months ago I had an issue with the charging system and had to replace the generator, battery and the rectifier. As I said only 5 months ago? I naturally assumed they may have again gone faulty? So I did the usual checks ac out, dc out etc …………everything seems fine? The battery is getting warm but then again I am based in the Middle East and day temp now is in the 50 deg C range so you would expect that. Any ideas what I do now? And is there a separate fuse for the clocks? (not under the seat The bird is my work horse so I need it daily……………… Cheers Guys
  10. Guys I need to run my bike and the whole charging circuit is knackered. I have ordered the bits I need and I'm not worried about that. But can someone tell me if there are any issues running an injection bird on the battery alone (Without the charging circuit) except for the obvious of the flat battery? And approx how long will I have on a full battery? Ben
  11. You wont belive this I can't get 10W40?? Gievn up now, settled for Shell Advance 15W50 fully Synthetic, If the bike drops to bits I'll let you know. Thanks for all the advice though. Stay sunny side up ya all Cheers Ben :whogives: Brit
  12. Good man Nice to have talked. Thanks for all your help I'm out tommorow to but new filter and Synthetic oil Ben
  13. From the IXXRA web site Quote If your bike has been Honda serviced previously, then you will have been running mineral oil for the past 8,000miles on your bike. This means that your engine will be in superb condition and bedded in perfectly. To be honest, at this stage the choice is up to you. Most oils today have far better lubricating properties than your engine requires anyway. You can still opt for mineral, but lots of people opt for SEMI-SYNTHETIC at this stage. Reason is that your engine has already been ran in so a little better lubricating performance at this stage really cannot harm anything at all. Either way, do NOT use FULLY SYNTHETIC. unquote
