  1. So, has anyone tried to cut open the collector take out the perforated steel with fiberglass packing around them, then weld it back together?

  3. Why? Do you use a controler? At the track, when would you bring it in (2nd or 3rd gear)?

  5. Most of the people at the track tell me that on mostly stock Hondas, the factory clutch is the best. The after market ones grab and don't let you slide it out of the hole.

  7. It must just cut the spark for a millisecond to let it go into the next gear. I think superbikes use something like that. Get caught in Pa doing that and the cops will throw away the key!

  9. I have changed a million car spark plugs but I also had the hardest time getting the boots off of the plugs the first time. I think most of the reason is because the the cross bar is right in the way. Can't get your hand down where it needs to be. I ended up wrapping a piece of string under the boot and pulling upward.
  10. Let us know if you can tell the difference with the advancer if you do it only. If you jet it and the advancer at the same time, you will never know which one is giving you the power.

  12. They treated me pretty good after they screwed up. They sent my order to the wrong address. When they found out, they air mailed it to me (at a cost of $28 to them) and wavied the $7 shipping cost to me. I guess it took about a week and a half to get to me. I guess it would have been better for them not to mess up the order but it did save me $7.00.

  15. If you build this thing and start going with him to the track to tune it, I think you will really start to get into drag racing. There is nothing like it.

    Ohlins

    So how much difference does the Ohlins make out on the street? Does it just take the bumps better in a turn or is it all around smoother?
  17. Don't you have to remove the shock and replace it with a solid bar? What times do you get with the bars?
  18. No, this is not normal for the XX. Are you sure that it is the gearbox and not the chain? Inspect the chain for tight links. Lube and adjust. Then, I would change the oil and filter. Try Mobil 1 15w-50 (red cap). It makes for smooth shifting.

    Brakes

    If you are not using the rear brakes, you are not using all of the front brakes as the rear pedal activates one piston on each of the front calipers. To be fair, I should have said that my bike had 5,000 miles on it when I got it and the rear pads were shot. Fronts are still good.

    Mine were shot at 5,000 miles. Fronts last almost three times that long.
  21. I found this in there catalog but couldn't pull it up on there web site (which sucks).
