They say that 1 down in front is the same as 3 up in the rear. So I guess it will be a little less than doing the front.

The AC filter I saw, blew up! Side split. :shock:

I didn't think it was the battery so I spent hours tearing into the bike. Always check the easy things first, OK?

I guess my whole point was to make sure it's not the battery before ripping into the bike.

I'll tell you a little story so if it happens to you, you will know what not to do. Rode my Goldwing, everything was fine. Two days later, turn the key on, all good, lights on, hit the starter button, POP, all lights go out. Dead. I thought it must be the main fuse (there are two of them). They were good. Getting 12.8 volts at the battery and across the main fuses. On the othere side of the bike is the fuse panel and relays. Almost no power there. Everything is totaly jammed in a Wing and there are a million electric gizmo's. I called my son (he's a mechanic) he checked some stuff after ripping more stuff out just to get to things. Then is says"just for fun, put a battery charger on it". I said no way, we are getting 12.8 volts. So I did and the lights came on but wouldn't turn over. Put the big charger on, it started to turn over. Put a new battery in it today, started and ran perfect. He took the old battery to work and put it on the checker and it wouldn'd even show that it was connected (junk). In all my years messing with cars and bikes, I have never seen a battery do this. Something must have shorted in it but how does it still have 12.8 volts? Sorry about this being so long but maybe it will save someone some grief someday.

So, you are saying that you use 40 weight? To tell you the truth scott s. people on here use all different weights and there doesn't seem to be any failures. So use what you think is best.

Some years back, I watched a guy get a oil bath when his AC Delco oil filter blew up on his chevy when he had his head under the hood. Kind of cool, really.

Not good for drag racing but seems to be good enough for Nicky Haden. :wink:

I know many people who use Fram. I used Fram also for many years. Never heard of anyone that I know that had any trouble from using that filter. I do use the Honda now but I wouldn't lose sleep if the Fram was on now.

Something wrong with your left hand?

The sprocket really don't tighten down, it moves back and forth on the shaft. Is that what you are asking?

azxx, do you know the settings for your carbs? Jet size, needle setting, etc. Also, do you still have the pipe (TB c-5)?

When you are one down in front, can you squeeze a 47 tooth rear sprocket on with a stock lenght chain?

What would that tell you?

How do you do that without getting fluid on your paint? Fluid on the paint is bad.

I think that the only way for us to tell is if you supply a photo of the 120 pounds female piloting the bike. That would be the standard answer around here anyways.

Have you tried strapping the front? They are only about $25 and I leave mine on all the time, just keep it loose. It really helps with the front end.

The problem with the stock clutch is not the strenght but how bad it grabs at higher rpm's. You just can't slide it like a cable clutch.

Would brazing work on a XX exhaust collector? Yea, I know, a mig would be better but I don't have one. There is no stress on this part. I opened it up and tacked it with a stick and brazed the rest.

They can coat both the inside and outside. Race cars almost always coat the headers. They claim that hot gas moves faster than cooler gas therefor making more power. I don't think that you would have much to gain but looks.
