  1. I can see some traction issues coming up. On the other hand, if you race on the center stand, it's a great mod. Hugo
  2. So that is the end result. Looks cool as hell! Please post some pictures of the hallway when it is done. Hugo
  3. Works better with the fan plugged back in. Back to normal. Hugo
  4. It's the best around - really. Plus, I really don't do stop and go traffic so the problem might have come up earlier. It's not about never making mistakes, it's about being good at admitting/fixing them. And they've been good at that. If that's their fault, they'll admit it and act accordingly. Hugo
  5. It's gonna teach me to participate to a 'heat' thread: Yesterday I picked the bird from the shop (32k service) and go into stop and traffic. It reached 246 F (fan does not kick in). Back to the shop tomorrow... Hugo
  6. Went to Vegas a month ago (105-110 F). The bike did not overheat (topped out at 232 deg F, city riding). Do a Search on heat and water wetter (I think). Hugo
  7. It's a chain thread so I thought I'd post my experience - and I am bored at work  : Stock chain -> 11 kmiles (dead stretched) 530 ZVM -> 19 (noisy with tight spots, not too stretched) Hugo
  8. Is it anything like Nutella---???????? I was itching to do this one (but I still have an ounce of self respect  ). Hugo
  9. I used to run 91 in my XX, listened to the wackos on this site and went the 87 route. No mileage difference, no pinging, and a significant price decrease. Hugo
  10. BTW, that noise is easily fixed by... earplugs  Hugo
  11. 300$ for a SHRINKAGE, dayumm that's expensive! Hugo
  12. Most I ever got in: 5.8 - FI - (and ran out of gas once). Hugo
  13. I'd think the tow company is first responsible as they decided to take on the job (they can always back out of the job and say they are too fucking stupid to tow a bike). I'd imagine the HRCA feeling (not being) partly responsible coz they are supposed to refer to tow companies that are bike-friendly. I'd expect them to either pressure the tow guy to death or pick up the bill. Hugo
  14. Just my added two cents. FI bikes do run hot but not red level (just right before red). However, mine had an electrical grounding issue that would make the temp indicator become moodier than the average female during its period. So my question would be: bike at idle - at a stop - rev engine to 3-4 krpms and while watching the temp indicator. Does it trigger a quick fluctuation reading? Hugo
  15. With the stock, I died right after the middle wear mark. The current has a tight spot and is starting to stretch a bit too much. Around 20k mile is fine for me. Hugo
  16. The OEM chain lasted 11k miles (I think I underlubed it, but that's bad anyway). It was replaced with a DID ZVM 530. This one lasted 19Kmiles (could go another thousand - maybe). Overall it has seen much more abuse (and was copiously OVERlubed, as many items in my place   ). Hugo
  17. Can we PLEASE on the BIKE problem at hand then? Hugo
  18. Since I have no more meaningful questions... Do you you have a cute sister? :banghead:  Hugo
  19. Yep, no fan problem. Next? :???: Cooland level was checked, I am assuming, and there is no air in the cooling system? Right? Hugo
  20. If it can save someone's ass: BTW, BT010 rear, BT 57 front. I did not want to part with the front because there was plenty of wear left. Plus the dealer had told me the profile was compatible... Bumpy CA freeway, straight line, 120 mph, 6th gear, I open wide and the front unloads a bit. Soon after that I am getting the tankslapper of the year (scared me shitless, REALLY). At the moment I thought I had lost it for good, shifting weight forward, cutting the throttle and having a three finger grip seemed to do the trick (or pure luck, if you ask me). Sure, you can mix tires. I won't. Dunno why  BTW, the tire combo I was running was the one of the dumbest you can run (IMO). We can argue all day about it being safe/unsafe but the fact it that it has not been tested, so bear that in mind. Hugo
  21. I got the same advice from a dealer and it almost killed me. I don't mix tires anymore. Hugo
  22. Isn't that a little young for you hugo? Ooooops, good one!  Actually the Fours kick my ass. Hugo
  23. Is that the Gas wasters big ass auto club? OK, I am going back to hugging the threes in my backyard   Hugo
