  1. Yah... in Athens, PA buying X11 CCT's. You guys are too funny. F' it. Just buy the US one  .
  2. Ok, I was being lazy. Now that I've read a few threads here on the X11, I take it we in the US cannot go to our local dealer and pick one up (probably can't get it on the web either?). One more problem would be the $90.00 US it would cost (little pricey). Looks like I missed the group buy back in March too. Oh well... guess I will just have to get the upgraded US model and replace it every 7-10k mi's.
  3. Now I know how you got your member name  .
  4. OK. Looks like it's time to replace my CCT. Got the 4k rattle starting up. One question for you guys. I've heard that there is a better CCT that is used on the naked BB. Is that something I should be looking at, or should I stick with the upgraded US model #06140-MAT-0315? What part number are you guys using? 06140-MAT-0315 06140-MAT-305 14520-MCC-601 (X11) Got some of this info from http://www.exodus-dev.com/teletactics/pers...l/cbr1100xx.htm

    Tires

I am just changing mine after 21,500 miles on them  . BT57's. People say they suck, but I didn't notice anything wrong with them (until they ran out of rubber).
  6. I don't know about the rest of you guys, but I couldn't get my hands past the that crossbar!!! My hands are too big to get in there to do anything. I gave up half way into it. Didn't want to break anything.
  7. They lost my gosh darn'did tires. Son's of Bee's. New Metzler's MEZ4's front and rear (sorry, no Avon's here. Way to wet on here is SF). After several promises for a redelivery, the general manager admits to losing my new tires. I said, "How can you lose a set of f'ing motorcycle tires? Look around Man! They have to be there somewhere! He said, "Sorry, we lost them". Great! I had a ride planned and everything. The good side is that the folks at http://www.discountmotorcycletire.com were cool, and will ship another set ASAP. Hopefully the new set will make it here in time. Just had to vent. -Obby
  8. Hows about some pics of your bird.

    Reserve Gas Tank?

I would pay real money to see 40mpg. Maybe I should change the sproket's back to stock. I'm runnig a 44 rear (freeway sproket). It might be hurting me in the city. Maybe a trade-in for a 2004 will be in order. If they put that f'ing vtech engine in, I don't know...
  10. Nope, haven't changed a thing. I'm hoping that the tire change will fix it. The shop wants to put on these god awfull sticky flat weights all over the wheel, then tape them down. Is that normal? I currently have the clip type on.
  11. Thanks for the advice. Will do.

    Reserve Gas Tank?

    I don't know...
  13. Has anyone seen a reserve gas tank setup for the bird? I need to get some more distance between gas stations ('97 bird - 28 mph).
  14. At speeds over 55/65 mph the bird start shuttering so bad that I can't see anything in the mirrors. The shuttering does not stablize (drive out) as I reach 100+ mph. My tires are pretty shot  (replacing real soon). Could it be the balance? Should I have the steering head bearings checked/changed along with the tires? Since I'm going to take the bird to a shop for the tire change (...and i hate the idea of leaving her alone with an unknown mechanic, just don't have the equipment to remove the wheels myself), I want to be able to tell the mechanic what to do so he doesn't screw anything up :whip: . Ps. Does anyone think a Honda mechanic would be better than a private shop?
  15. It started at the edge on the right underside. Nope. No locktite. It's more like a tear than a crack. Weird. To replace the part is like 300.00 bucks. Since it's on the underside of the panel I might try to glue it from the inside. Any recomendations of what to glue it with?
  16. What the heck happened? I was washing the bird and noticed that I have a 1 inch crack in the rear cowel. It wasn't there the last time I washed it. Has anyone else seen a crack come out of nowhere before?
  17. Pete, I would sell my soul for 40mpg. And that's just cruzing. My bird gets an average of 29. I feel like I'm chasing gas stations. '97 K&N and Jetted 150hp.
  18. I did this procedure. It IS really tight. I had my 8 year old put the plugs back in for me .
  19. :nono: :loony: :kicknuts: :fart: :whip: xxxbirdxxx, everything you tell us is straight-up bullshit. We've gone over this before. Don't even try to defend yourself here, your creditability is shot. 1. Birds only go 180'ish mph (without a gear change, turbo, nitrous ect) 2. You don't have 163hp with only a pipe and PCIII mapping. If you do, prove it and I'll buy the same stuff. As for you Ebay Ad, good luck finding a sucker to :hump:
  20. You fixed your CAP LOCKS. WD-40 does work! I have a Works ? spring. It's hard as a f'ing rock. I want to soften it up some. My ass jumps out of the seat when I hit a freeway bump.
  21. Umm... excuse me Swampy  , I have those tires(BT57)with 21,500 miles on them  . They are definatley ready tho. Cupped and bald.
  22. Can you believe it. I rode my bike to work as usual. After work I go to take off and notice a small puddle of oil under my bike, I look around... Nope, no Harley's around :headscratch:. WTF. Look under the engine. Yep, it's me. I have oil all on over the place. I check the oil level, decide it's enough to get me home. Once I get home, turn on the engine, look around. Oil starts seeping out of clutch cover gasket. W.T.F. How could this happen! Then it came to me... that's right... I was riding my Yamaha, not the Bird. So it's just me and my Bird riding to work now. I bet she planned the whole thing  .
  23. I have a '97 with Micron CF slip'ons. No heat problems that I've noticed. Might be the codura pants shielding me though.
  24. You couldn't pay me to install those UGLY f'ing bars on my bird.
