  1. When I am riding regularly, about every other week. If the bike has been sitting for a more than a couple of weeks, I check before riding. I always check tire pressures before any trip. I replaced my stems with angled stems.
  2. Just wondering how long they last?
  3. How many of you with FI Birds have had to change the fuel filter?
  4. 8.3 fits Japanese bikes. Take a look here http://www.cbr1100xx.org/forums/index.php?showtopic=78739
  5. Do a search in the Garage on Fuel Pressure Regulator.

My last experience with Bike Bandit, was when I ordered chain lube and received brake cleaner. I resolved the issue by phone, kept the brake cleaner. Seems they had the numbers fucked up in their on-line order system. The confirmation I received after they created the second order was for brake cleaner. Go figure.
  7. Sure......except for the extra 150-200 pounds they need to stop. Look at the 2013 Busa. It comes from the factory with Brembo monoblock radial brakes, and it still does not stop as well as any of the superbikes.
  8. My wife's girlfriend told us she went to her Doctor for weight loss advise. He told her to join Jenny Craig, but sign up for the absolute minimum time. He told her to pay close attention to the portion sizes they send out. Then, he told her to eat whatever she wants, but to limit her portion sizes to the amount found in a Jenny Craig meal. He also told her to exercize. Sounds a lot like Eat less....move more.
  9. Articles I have read regarding portion control recommend a serving of protein (beef, chicken, pork) should not be larger than the palm of your hand. (Yeah, that's a pretty small chunk of meat.) Doctors always tell you to cut back on the salt, but unless you have blood pressure issues, adding salt to your food may not be a big deal. Sodium will cause you to retain water, but if you are drinking plenty of water, the sodium will flush out of your system. Funny that drinking more water will keep you from retaining it. In any case, processed foods usually contain way more sodium in them than most people would ever think about adding with a salt shaker,
  10. Sounds like a sensible plan. At around 140 calories a bottle, you can reduce your weight gain (or add to a weight loss) by a little over a pound a week just by cutting your beer consumption down to one a day. Everyone wants to loose their weight ASAP, but a slow steady weight loss is what will last. It's a lifestyle change, not a diet. Steak has a lot of calories because of the fat. Wild game....way less. 11. Check the logo on your tank. Maybe someone replaced your Blackbird with a Busa. They have a vibration point around 4500.

    de-chrome?

Look at Rustoleum high performance wheel coating.
  13. I usually unbolt both. It's also a good time to take a look at your brake pads. Use some wire to hold them up out of the way and to keep them from dangling by the brake hoses. Honda recommends you replace the mounting bolts when you remove the brake calipers. I suspect this is because they supply bolts with a thread locking compound already applied. I would just clean the threads and apply a little Loctite blue during the re-install.
  14. When I had that problem, it was because of crap in the low speed jets. Original article linky One cleaning was not enough. I had to flush the tank.
  15. I've seen the write up. It may be on STN, but I'm not positive. Warchild wrote it. Search for Blow job. EDIT: I found it. It's on the FJR forum
  16. That is a real good time. My typical pace is right at 200m./minute They had a rowing competition for the Biggest Loser contestants a couple years ago. How quick they could row 10,000 meters. All the contestants were at home for a week. The winner got $10,000 I think the winner did it in around 30 minutes.
  17. Not only the knees....You will be surprised at how much work your core muscles are doing. There are a lot of subtle changes you can make during a session to shift the load to different muscle groups. Here is a link to a Concept 2 training guide. click me
  18. I start my workouts by rowing on a Concept 2. I usually only do around 10 minutes, enough to get my heart rate up and my muscles loose. On days when I don't lift, I spend more time on it.
  19. Should you be sore after every workout? More shit than you probably want to know about DOMS
  20. Post up Rick. It's been a few months. How's the Speed family makeover coming along?
