  1. Have you put an ad in Craigslist? More potential buyers there.
  2. I would love to have this bike! I saw it back in June at Dan and Anna's house. Perhaps another roadtrip is in order?!
  3. That url takes to the wrong place. Correct url is http://www.seymoursmotorsports.com Bike isn't listed on the site. Thanks for correcting the link. I copied from their business card. I stopped by there today and sat on it...memories!
  4. 3500 miles. No nicks, scratches, nothing! Priced at $6495 www.seymours-motorized-sports.com 518.785.1004 Tom Seymour is the Sales Manager. No affiliation. Just a nice family run place.
  5. I don't wear watches but that looks really nice. Hmmm...
  6. Have you advertised the bike on any of the FJR forums? I'm sure it'll sell quicker there.
  7. A friend of mine pick up a car (Mazda 626) from Joe earlier this year and I can say that Joe maintains his cars very well.
  8. Long way from NY to CA. Oh Rich...! The first owner took excellent care of it and sold it to me. I flew down to and bought it in NC then rode it to NY. It is a great running and well maintained bike as I put on 10,000 miles on it in 5 months. Rev has taken great care of this bike and the next owner will get a very nice bike! Whatcha gettin' next Rev? An FJR? A C14?
  9. Hey Pete, The last time I put plugs and filter into my 97 xx it had 75k miles on it. No brown goo that you speak of.
  10. My 97xx had 11,000 miles when I bought it in 7/00. I sold it to a fellow board member with 83,000 miles on it in 6/04. My 02xx had 9,000 miles when I bought it in 6/04. Current mileage is 19,000. So between the two XX's, I put on 82,000 miles on them. I wonder what my next bike will be?
  11. Bruce, You said that the Laminar on the stock windshield is far superior to the ZG ST screen...of which I have. Can the Laminar be put on the ZG screen or does the stock windshield need to go back on? Any additional comments on the Laminar such as buffeting and rain protection? Thanks,
  12. Hey Joe, I had a 302 Ford give similar symptoms that you are describing. In my case, it was the timing chain that got stretched so badly that it jump time and would not start. After installing new timing chain and gears, it started right up. Not sure of an easy way to check without disassembling front of the engine. Another thing to check, if fuel injected, see if the inertia switch needs to be reset. It is a push/pull switch that will go off in vehicle is hit. Hope this helps,
  13. Hey Skip, How is my old bike treating you? How many miles on it so far? Great Day! John
  14. I've had the Avon 45/46 and they wore very well. 17k miles for the front and 13k miles for the rear. I just had Pilot Roads installed on my bike recently and have wiped out the chicken strips with no problem. So far so good.
  15. My 97 XX had it's first chain and sprockets replaced at 38k miles. Used WD 40 on that chain. 2nd set used Maxima chain lube...lasted a total of 18k miles. I just installed the 3rd set at 92k miles and used Maxima chain lube. 2nd set was an inferior brand of chain and sprockets...live and learn. WD 40 got sprayed on every gas stop. Maxima chain lube was done every other gas stop. WD 40 is used to clean and after excess gets cleaned and run out, chain lube is applied. Current mileage on my 02 is 18k miles and I've used Maxima chain lube since 9700 miles. Perhaps Conq will chime in on what he used for chain lube until I bought his bike.
  16. I put Heli Bars on my 02 and I noticed that the clutch line was very tight. What I did was follow the line down to the frame and unbolted it. I moved the rubber bushing and slightly bent the line so that I had more slack. Works well. I too will take a dremel tool to remove a tab by the clutch line by the hydraulic cylinder so that I can rotate my clutch lever down a bit. My 97 XX had this done to it and had zero problems with the clutch lines.
  17. Good Morning, 1100 rpm
  18. Ken, Go with the EBC HH's. 83k miles and the rotors are still legal. Hang on the first time you grab them though. What a difference! Hope this helps! Great Day! John
  19. Advice? Buy mine! Totally stock. 44 mpg. 78k miles. $3000.
  20. 97 xx w/78k miles. Zero problems but well maintained.
  21. Just ordered a set of Z6's for $212 delivered. The Avon 45/46 combo has given me 17,100 miles on the front... with plenty of tread left. The rear tire has 13,000 miles and is almost to the wear bars. For the record, I weigh about 170 and run 40 pounds of air front and rear. Also, my riding style is more on the conservative side. Great Day!
  22. Happens to me too, to the point that the gauges and inside of the windshield gets fogged up.
  23. Which color gets pulled over the most? The ones that get caught! :poke: Actually, I got a ticket in VT last year...71 in a 50. Two lane road in the middle of nowhere. Nothing but farm country and crop circles. Rosco P. Coltrane says don't worry, the points won't go to NY.
