I am slowly working on my basement to turn it into my little man room..

I got shelves to store all my oil, spray cans ect. But could really use a work bench to help work on stuff.

I don't see spending the money on these plastic and tin foil ones. Would like to build one that I can attach a vise, and other little stuff to help me for doing my own tire changes and balancing.

Anyone got some pics of their work stations or maybe some plans

i dont have any pix of minebut its just a home made wooden one. 2x12s i think, it was in the garage when i bought the house. i just moved it out when i demo'd the old garage and moved it into the new one.

craftsman has some nice ones that come on sale now and then and have drawers and pegboards and shit if you dont want to build yourself.

a lot of guys build a frame of some sort and go to Menards HomeDepot or Lowes and pick up a cheap countertop for the top. if you ask in the millwork dept they usually have damaged or returned tops super cheap.

not sure where to go for plans but i bet google does ;)

I've had some home made ones over the years, but I went with steel ones from Lowes this time.

I went with a work bench kit from 2 X 4 Basics

Workbench legs

Add your own wood kinda deal...I havent gotten the whole thing together but it comes with 4 legs which seem very strong and sturdy even if they are some sort of plastic, and an additional shelving section

Damn David that is sweet. Exactly what I would build if I had any skillz...and wasn't lazy. :icon_biggrin:

If you fasten the steel ones to the wall they are pretty solid.

That bench looks awesome David.

My disaster zone. Getting the bike finished for NEXXT brougt out every tool I have!

It's looked like that every time I've seen it. :icon_wink:

I used a pallet rack frame, for light warehousing, then added my top and sides with wood. Its a tad messy in the shot, but if you zoom in you can see the rack/frame underneath Blue/Yellow

One thing I found to be a great help was the fused power bar at the front of the bench

Most of the steel frame ones you can anchor to the floor. You can plop a wood top.
