Kenu Posted May 31, 2003 Posted May 31, 2003 My bike is -00 model... (only 9000km) There's strange rattling noise coming from the engine, if I let go the throttle, that sound disappears... So is it that "famous" CCT? Quote
XXTi Posted May 31, 2003 Posted May 31, 2003 Hi Kenu, My bike is an '00 XX too. It rattled around 3500-4500 rpm until I replaced the CCT. They are inexpensive and only take a few minutes to install. I used the original equipment replacement, but I understand the CCT from an X-11 is superior. Quote
XX4me Posted June 1, 2003 Posted June 1, 2003 Yep, it probably is. A good test is to let the motor idle and slowly increase rpm's. If the noise increases somewhere in between 3000-5000 rpm's it's a good bet that's the origin of the noise. If you can get an X-11 CCT it really does fix it. Forrest Quote
willxx23 Posted June 1, 2003 Posted June 1, 2003 What are the prices for the oem and x-11 cct??? My 00 has an extended warranty with a 50$ deductible so i wonder if it is cheaper than that to do myself. Quote
Bullet Posted June 2, 2003 Posted June 2, 2003 CCT will cost you about $40 Is that for the OEM? What is the X-11? Quote
Kenu Posted June 5, 2003 Author Posted June 5, 2003 I replaced that faulty CCT... All of those noises were gone after that, but now it has started to make some noise again! That rattling is back but it doesn't sound so loud... I can feel now nasty vibration and when I pull the clutch it disappear... So what the hell is going on??? :???: Quote
Marc1100xx Posted June 5, 2003 Posted June 5, 2003 Next friday I get my new CCT. It is the new modified CCT so the problems should be gone. Quote
Titbird Posted June 5, 2003 Posted June 5, 2003 a little clutch noise is normal.... clutch rattling around in the basket while engaged... but a NASTY VIBRATION?? don't know about that one.... - Titbird Quote

So what the hell is going on??? :???: it's funny- after i replaced my CCT is when i first started hearing the clutch basket noise as well. it's pretty noticable. when i idle at a light and snick 'er in neutral, i can feel the rattle coming up through the bike when i let go of the clutch. (that's with earplugs in) before i only got this kinda stuff at startup. Quote
Kenu Posted June 5, 2003 Author Posted June 5, 2003 I'm sorry, I was trying to explain that I can feel nasty vibration only when I drive this beast... Quote
Titbird Posted June 5, 2003 Posted June 5, 2003 Now I'm really confused.... is there a problem or no...??? Quote
Kenu Posted June 5, 2003 Author Posted June 5, 2003 The problem is that there are too much that vibration when I'm driving and I don't know what to do... Quote
Flying Scott Posted June 6, 2003 Posted June 6, 2003 Next friday I get my new CCT.It is the new modified CCT so the problems should be gone. I just installed new CCT Honda OEM- this one actually came with the "key" last time I replaced the CBr600s it didnt, that was about the only difference, they look identical. :?: What the news on " New Modified" how would I know if I got this, or are you referring to alternate supply of CCTs Cheers TC Quote
