Dotetcher
The one on my 1997 has just rusted through at the base.Anything special I should be doing before trying to loosen the nuts. Is shearing the bolts off and issue? Alternate heating and penetrating oil or not necessary? I do NOT want to shear any of these bolts off. TIA Edited May 14, 2018 by Dotetcher
rockmeupto125
It's most common for the nut to have more friction against the stud than the stud has against the head, so you just end up unscrewing the stud, which is a lot better than breaking one off. Soak them up good and let them set overnight.
