02 SilverBird
Any one have a VFR, going to do an oil & filter change, which panel do I remove L or R , just did one on the Bird and pulled the R/side, worked out ok but would have been better pulling L/side. Thanks Rob
TOXXIC
Pretty sure you should be able to leave the lowers on. I have an 02 and imagine they are much different?
cabinfever
I'm thinking the same thing. It's been 5 years since i had my '99, but I don't remember removing side panels for an oil change.

Why would you pull anything to change the oil in the Bird? You put in on the center stand, reach up under to remove oil filter. If it is too tight, use strap wrench to loosen. superhawk996
I didn't remove any on the bird, don't see a need to. Don't know the VFR.

superhawk996
We should at least confirm what the best oil is before closing it shouldn't we?

The Krypt Keeper
I always removed the left panel on my bird. Takes two minutes to get it out of my way. That makes it worth it for me. The best oil I have ever used in the bird T6 with a WIX filter (who also make the NAPA GOLD filters) Edited December 18, 2015 by The Krypt Keeper
