Ack535
OK guys, I just survived a head on 55 MPH crash with a deer in Northern Michigan while riding my FJR. Bike was totaled, Progressive wrote me a nice check, and I have always wanted to own a Blackbird... Here is what I am looking for: -1999 or newer Blackbird (I prefer the FI bikes). -Close to stock with tasteful updates. -Set up for Sport-Touring a big plus. -I would love a Red 2001, but the 2002's are cool too. Willing to travel a bit for the right bike, or have her shipped to me here in Michigan. Looking to spend upwards of $6K for the right bike. I have cash... Since I am new to the board, e mail me at ack535@msn.com with hi res pics, accurate description of your bike, where it is located at, and best way to contact you. Thanks so much! Ack535
Thanks guys, I saw the one red bike in Florida, but not enough specifics for me. I am hoping someone here who was on the fencepost about selling would reach out to me. Plus Florida is a long way to go for a bike. Either way, I am looking forward to joining the club! Ray from Fowlerville MI turned me onto this site. There is a 1998 Blackbird for sale locally with 18K miles, Yoshi exhaust. Bike is in relatively good shape. His bottom line price is $3,500. I amy have to jump on that one if nothing else pops up. There is also 2002 Blackbird within 2 hours with 7K miles. Only problem is the bike has significant scatches/tip over damage, and has not run in years. His bottom price is $3,900 for a bike that needs $1,000 worth of work, maybe more. Pete Here is the 1998 Blackbird for sale locally: http://detroit.craigslist.org/wyn/mcy/3231462050.html What do you guys think. Worth $3,500? That clutch fluid is mighty dark. I like have an FI bike, but if you can deal with carbs, it is not too far off the scale price wise. Ack535
I liked the Yoshi's but the carbs were not re-jetted to match the pipes. It was easier to go back to stock than mess with the carbs. Besides I am not any smarter than the Honda engineers who figured this shit out...
