N1K
TJ, what do you think of green tea? Yes? No? Good before a workout or after? I don't drink coffee at all, and during the winter, with the try air, I like to sip something hot... Just curious what you think of green tea... spEEdfrEEk
TJ, what do you think of green tea?Yes? No? I drink 16 ounces of it atleast every other day.. It's LOADED with antioxidants. Good before a workout or after? Much better before, the caffeine will amp you up too much if you drink it afterwards. In fact, I'll have a cup of Panax Ginseng before I hit the gym as well -- excellent at preparing the adrenals for a hard lift. I don't drink coffee at all, and during the winter, with the try air, I like to sip something hot...Just curious what you think of green tea... Mixed with some stevia, it's excellent on a cold day.. TJ
N1K
Much better before, the caffeine will amp you up too much if you drink it afterwards. There's caffeine in that? No wonder I felt funny last night... I was WAY WAY WAY more thirsty then usual last night... Couldn't get to sleep, kept waking up with total dry mouth. Even this morning, I've way more thirsty then usual... I eat the exact same, and drink the same every day, so I couldn't understand a change... only thing I did different yesterday was the Green tea... spEEdfrEEk
There's caffeine in that? Tons.. In fact, most Japanese families drink it daily, but are afraid to give it to their children (taboo) because they feel the caffeine can stunt growth.. TJ
N1K
Tons.. man, no wonder I couldn't sleep that night, and was incredibly dehydrated... I get zero caffeine in my diet... My body isn't use to it... I sure had a good workout after that cup though!!!!!!!!!
Jette
Green tea is better than some others. I wouldn't say TONS. Drink (12 oz unless specified) /Caffeine in mg Drip Coffee (8 oz.) 115-175 Red Bull 80 Jolt 71.2 Mountain Dew 55 Diet Coke 45.6 Tea Brewed (US ave in 8 oz) 40 Pepsi 37.5 Coke 34 Tea, Green (8oz)
spEEdfrEEk
Green tea is better than some others. I wouldn't say TONS. As far as healthy anti-oxidants go it is TONS (which is the original point of Niks post) Tea Brewed (US ave in 8 oz) 40Tea, Green (8oz) 15 This is misleading, because it looks like it's comparing a specific brand of "tea" against another specific brand of "green tea". I can see no other reason for such a big disparity. In essence, they're the same as "green tea" is "tea" (or black tea) that just hasn't been left out in the sun to dry (and turn black, and oxidize, etc..) http://www.cancer.org/docroot/ETO/content/...sp?sitearea=ETO Generally the "green" version of the tea has higher caffeine content because of less processing/drying/etc. (atleast according to my info) TJ
