ZRX1100JIM
Starter relay chatters like hell but won't engage starter. I did a search and found nothing. Honda service manual is useless in this case. Fully charged battery. Any help would be appreciated.
cbrxxquad
put a volt meter on the battery and try to start and see what the volts go down to Pull the cover on the right and make sure the motor over without the plugs in. You may have a major problem

If so, then either a bad battery or poor battery connection is most likely the culprit. Check both ends of both battery cables, loosen and retighten the connections. If the battery is weak, then jumping it will be the best test of that.
ZRX1100JIM
Thanks Mike That's what I found out. Weak battery. I put a new Die Hard AGM in it last year. The bike sat for a week and drained enough to be to weak to start the bike. Hadn't heard that "chatter" sound for so long I'd forgotten what it indicated. I swapped out the battery from the ZRX and it fired right up. Now I have to find out if its a faulty battery or something besides the clock is drawing voltage from the battery. My ZRX is a '00' with original battery that I rarely ride since getting the Bird and I've never had it on a Tender. Probably won't last much longer now.
