KPS99
I am attempting to install a new set of slip-ons and am having a problem with them interferring with my swingarm. I had the same style cans on an older XX that I owned and had no issues. I just bought this 03 and I am not the first owner. It seems that the preload on the rear shock is cranked way down so part of my problem might be that the rear is sitting too low. But while riding if left the way that it is it still seems that the inside of the new cans will rub on the swingarm. Any one have any ideas? I have tried rotating the midpipes in every direction. I wwa sthinking of tring to mount the cans to the outside of the rear foot peg and see if that helped vice the inside like the tock pipes do. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks
lexxus
Can you put the exhaust in place? And maybe post pic's so that seeing how they a sitting on your bike may give us a better ideal as to how to help you with this.
TFT
What brand of slip-ons do you have? I had a similar issue, I just had to rotate the mid pipe a bit.

Thanks I think you on the right track with mounting the cans on the outside of the passenger pegs. That's the way my Yoshi is.
Banshee
Those pillion peg hangers are also prone to bending, (particularly the left one). From heavier pillions, or just from getting on/off the bike. But yes, try the clamps on the outside of the hangers, that's what I did with my Yoshis on my '98.
blackhawkxx
My Yosh touched so I put some washers in back of the peg hangers. Moved it out just enough not to touch.
FiXXation
My Yosh touched so I put some washers in back of the peg hangers. Moved it out just enough not to touch. I had to do this on my 2003 when it was new to keep the left factory muffler off the swingarm. As I recall, I put a nut for a spacer, about 1/4" thick, between each of the left hanger mount flanges and the sub frame.
KPS99
Thanks guys for all your input. I mounted them to the outseide of the rear foot peg and they fit perfectly. I guess I assumed they went on the inside because that is where the stock cans mounted. I appreciate everyone's help.
