clutchburningracing
Anybody know if a 97-98 rear cowl or tail fit on a 03 bb?
rockmeupto125
The most recent body of knowledge says yes. When I first set up the list of changes/compatibilities for the various years, I mistakenly noted that the later model rear cowls differed from the carbed versions. It was an assumption I made based on the change of the taillight from horizontal to vertical. It was later pointed out to me that the cutout for the tailight was identical. I've not attempted a switch, although I really should, but closer examination says that yes, they are structurally identical. I need to update the database as well, and for that I apologize. MrBadExxample
The paint is different. The 97/98 is a universal black, while the '03 black has some gold fleck.
CBRDEANO
YES it will. Mate of mine changed a 98 bike to an 04 tail light. All he needed was the undercowl(mudguard) and the light for the change. The rear cowl was a perfect fit around the light and 04 mudguard. Helvet
Only the stickers are different.
TOXXIC
Previously I switched it no problem. Put a 2002 tail on a 1998 model and briefly ran the 1998 rear brake housing until I went with a Mototek.
