BearXX
Someone should see a shrink. They hear noises while driving a perfect bike. Hope you find the problem.
willxx23
Mine (00 model) had some play prior to me installing the HID's but I used one of the attachment points for the gauge cluster to secure one of the ignitors, that took up any play left in the gauge cluster. I do know some people have added washers or rubber to that point to get the same effect, it wouldn't hurt to add some and see if you like the results. XXSIVSPD
My '00 has some play in the cluster. Not so much that it moves noticably while riding but enough I can move it by hand.
XXTi
I added a rubber washer to my instrument cluster mounts years ago. Just pop the windshield off and you can see what you need to do.

Zero Knievel
Wear foam plugs in your ear. It not only protects your hearing but it blocks the "little noises" every bike makes. It a noise is loud enough to be heard through the plugs, then you need to worry about it. FWIW, I think all dashboards move. They are anchored through rubber grommets and are intended to move a little so the vibrations of the road don't rattle things to bits. Hooplehead
1997 w/20k dash seems tight still on mine. You could always keep your hands off it and watch the road instead?!
