Venus97
I've noticed dark rings at the end of the tips on my Scorpion slip ons, and actually have also noticed some signs of exhaust near a few rivet points as well. Is there a good over the counter clear that easily rmeoves this stuff?
MileHi
Just about any good metal polish will do it. That's what I use.
scottw
If you need a little more "bite" for the metal polish, get some 0000 steel wool from your hardware store.
tomek
I`ve never tried it for exhaust cleaning, but acetone removes almost everything,,,,,,,,actually if it is just carbon build up,carburator cleaner dissoles that on the contact. Wonderfull to clean combustion chambers, valves and piston tops,,,,,,
DaveK
Mothers Chrome Polish I WOULD NOT use steel wool on my bike....anywhere. JMHO
Canadian Bird
I use a 4X0/5X0 steel wool on the inside of my pipes whenever necessary. Plus a good metal polish. No concerns except I'd like less exhaust dark inside the pipes.
79cbxmike
No No No on any steel wool!!!!!!!! It will leave scratches that are the devil to polish out. Mothers or Blue Magic (favorite) will take off the exhaust residue just fine. Just did that on all fourteen exhaust systems (2 CBXs with six into six and one stock CBX with three into two systems). Wasn't even a lot of work. First wash'em up good then polish away, you'll be done in no time. Michael
