Master Betty
I followed Warchild's guide as well (thanks). Piece of cake, even for a goof like me... Hardest part? (get this) figuring out the reason why I couldn't get the new plug to thread properly was because I'm an a-hole and put it in upside down! What an idiot. Oh well, it's funny now. bar10dah
Every time I pull my bike apart to do some maintenance, I'm grateful to have access to: http://www.cbr1100xx.org/faq/maint_plug-filter.htm  Did my plug/airfilter change in record time tonight. Now, to go out and "test" it out.
Hobicus
Hey.. it's probably worth saying that even though you have a 99 bird, you should do the Iridium (sp?) plugs, as they last quite a bit longer, albeit they are more expensive. If you go that route, you won't have to do it again any time soon
bar10dah
I have a '98 (carb'ed) bird, and yes... I went with the Iridium plugs. And as far as being more expensive: I paid $7.06 per plug from ronayers.com. They had the stock plug for $5.95. I believe retail for the stock plug is something like $8.33. So, I SAVED money by going with the Iridium!
bar10dah
If you go that route, you won't have to do it again any time soon   How long are the change intervals with Iridium? I usually follow the manual and do them at 8K.
jrdxx
I've only had to change my plugs once so far, and in spite of all the recommendations on the board, I had to be anal and go the service manual route. Never again. I'd much rather work over the top of the engine than lay on the floor and change the plugs in Braille.
