  1. You just made my day! Thanks, TJ Jon
  2. So what's the deal with decaf only while on Atkins? It's killing me! I'm a miserable slob if I go to work without it! Does it really affect your blood sugar levels? After reading some of the other posts I decided to switch to green tea but that's off limits according to the diet as well. Please don't tell me I need to switch to coke
  3. UPDATE: I've been fine the last few nights. Might have just taken my body a short while to adjust to an entirely different diet, or it might have just been yet another battle with insomnia. Who knows.
  4. Just picked up a Ross Dark sugar free chocolate bar. A little pricey ($1.50) but well worth it! 1.0g net carbs.
  5. Could any of you recommend a good book or two for newbies to the Ketogenic Diet? Cheers, Jon
  6. Hi All, First off, let me thank everyone (especially TJ) for their very informative posts in this section of the forum - I love this place! OK, so after being anti Atkins since I learned what it was I finally decided to read about the low carb strategy here (my primary source for anything important). After learning a bit about it I decided to jump in the fire. I started cutting carbs like mad on Monday and it has already made a very noticable difference in my level of energy. I CONSTANTLY felt drained prior to the switch, I was beginning to wonder what the hell was wrong with me! After every meal all I wanted to do was sleep and I was useless at work after lunch. I haven't had the sleepy spells since I cut the carbs. OK, I know, IT'S ONLY BEEN THREE DAYS!!!, right? True, It's probably a bit early to declair victory over anything yet BUT it doesn't hurt to keep yourself fired up. SO to my question for the experienced, did any of you have sleeping problems shortly after you made the switch? I've had difficulty getting to sleep the last few nights (I'm talking lying in bed for 4 hours waiting). That really blows. I have had battles with insomnia in the past, just trying to figure out if these recent spells are in any way related to the diet. Well thanks again for the load of useful links and recommendations and I'll be sure to update everybody with my experiences. Cheers, Jon
  7. I followed Warchild's guide as well (thanks). Piece of cake, even for a goof like me... Hardest part? (get this) figuring out the reason why I couldn't get the new plug to thread properly was because I'm an a-hole and put it in upside down! What an idiot. Oh well, it's funny now.
  8. Thanks for the feedback everybody, I'll go with Jim's, plug n' play sounds nice to me  And it did look for it, Joe! I'm just impatient  "Hmmm, they have the internet on computers now..." Homer Simpson
  9. Hey Joe, Do you happen to have a link for that? I'm not having any luck finding it.
  10. Hey guys, gals, I've seen a few posts that mention speedometer error. Is there a good rule for error (i.e. -10% of indicated speed) or does it vary much from bike to bike? Hate the idea of being followed by a cop in a 55 and not know if I'm going 45 or 65, but more importantly I want to know if I was really going 170 yesterday... I really need to dump some more cash out to get that Yellow Box thinger. Cheers  MB
  11. Can one of you geniuses out there tell me what the deal is with oils that contain molybdenum additives? One of my buddies put it in his 929. I was under the impression that it isn't the best stuff to put in your bike, however, a Honda dealer recommended it to him. They also said that once you start using it, you cannot go back. Does that sound right? I think he's starting to regret it now that he is spending $9 a quart for oil... Cheers
  12. Hey guys, I just changed my plugs for the first time and I noticed some oil on the old ones? There was also some oil (?) on the inside of the airbox just above the air intakes of the carburetors (Oh yeah its a '97, black is fastest). Is this something I should expect to see or is something fargled up? I am an a-hole and managed to drop it this past fall (no pun intended) and the bike came with a full Erion exhaust system installed but jetting is yet to be done. Any thoughts? Am I just being paranoid? Thanks, Jon
