blkbrdrydr
I drained the coolant from my bike according to the instructions in the Service Manual but... It wouldn't take approximately 108 oz in the radiator. It only took about 90 oz. In the reservoir, it took about 27 oz instead of approximately 37 oz. I drained the coolant from the water pump, from the cylinder drain plug and from the reservoir. Did I miss a step?
JohnA
Same with me...drained everything according to the manual, and it needed to refil 1liter less than the total coolant volume. I guess a lot stays in, no matter what...
SwampNut
I always flush fully with distilled water, then refill. I don't use coolant in the bike, but if I did I'd put in 1/2 of the capacity then finish with more distilled water.
jlheine
Swamp, just curious... You say you don't use coolant, but advise 20% coolant with WaterWetter... Can you clarify what you are currently using? Summer's basically over here, but am looking at flushing the radiator at the 2-year point... SwampNut
Sorry, I still have some of the old Super Waterwetter which was used without coolant. That's no longer available, and they advise the use of 20% coolant with standard Waterwetter.
