SwampNut Posted October 10, 2024 Posted October 10, 2024 High in protein and fiber, ultra low carbs, great nutrition all around. A lot of dietary experts recommend mushrooms in your diet. So of course, it it like meat? Moriah fell in love with it. Remember she’s allergic to beef and hasn’t had any in a very long time, to compare them directly, but was more excited about this than most foods. I think it’s like super soft meat, with low texture, but some texture. It’s not the same as meat, but it’s perfectly good in a meal. By the time you add the things you would to a Mexican meal you probably can’t tell a difference. It does seem to take quite a bit of oil to cook well in a skillet, but didn't absorb much. It can be grilled, which I haven't tried yet. https://www.meati.com/ Quote
SwampNut Posted October 11, 2024 Author Posted October 11, 2024 Thanks, I'd meant to post the label. It's a pretty impressive nutritional profile. I am probably going to buy a bunch today for my usual Friday night neighborhood dinner. Edit to add, this does not have any of the tofu flavor that I think you object to. And also, I should post the steps that make that flavor go away in tofu. Quote

It was a huge hit. One person who didn't know it was veggie based said the house just smelled like steak. Quote
