  1. Fly into Dayton. (DAY) Pat will pick you up. From there you can rednexxt with us before heading home. Yes...bummer on the V65. The first guy to look at it fell in love and whipped out a wad of cash.
  2. Bill, You should do it. Come to Rednexxt with us. Post up to see if you can catch a ride with anyone caging it down.
  3. I bought them from Billy Carr out of Texas. Here's a link to the post in the V4 Forums. They're "high precision mineral glass". I bought the carb screw replacements, too. Good Quality Throw in another 28?
  4. I had a 83 V45 Sabre, too. Loved that bike more than anything....until I sat on the V65. lol... It was a good thing I didn't find out about the power until I was 20. I bought this one from a guy in Indianapolis. He collected the CB1100F's. His prize model had only 700 miles and was super sharp. I wish I would have taken my camera! No. My 1984 V65 held up fine. I put a ton of miles on it before selling it (to buy the 94 1000F). I never did have problems with the cams and it sounded tight like a blower on a big block. I figure the problems people had may have been more to do with redlining the engine than a lack of oil. Of course, more oil never hurts, but I never exceed 9k.
  5. OK...the Sabre is officially up for sale. 1985 with 8,430 miles. I bought it in 2009 from a guy that collected Hondas. Last year I rebuilt the carbs with 100% success. I still can't believe how happy I am with the way it runs. I just put new tires on it a couple months ago. I removed all the coolant tubes and replaced the o-rings. It has a new air filter, plugs, oil change, the works. The brake fluid should be changed again. It was 20 year old sludge when I first got it. I flushed it as best I could and knew it would take a few more times to get it all. The brake fluid windows need to be replaced. I have them, but didn't get to it. The only possible concern I have with the bike is the valve seals. When I bought it, I was taking it out of storage. In the beginning, it would puff a very small amount of smoke the next time I'd start it after having gone for a two or more hour ride, and only when it first started. That stopped and it hasn't done it since. At some point, they may need replaced. There is a small dent on the muffler, right where the sidestand would hit if it fell over. I don't think this bike ever did. Seeing the same dent on all the Sabres...I'm starting to think it's caused by something else. I don't know. But, while saying that, the headlight/bucket/gauges assembly is off by just a little bit. Still, I see absolutely no sign of damage and would have to say it's just the way this thing is put together. Anyway, that's my entire take on the bike. I just bought another and need to thin the heard. $2800 before it goes on ebay. I'll post new pictures soon. Here's one from when I brought it home. It looks the same, except new tires. Thanks! Walt
  6. Dave, I took it out running tonight. Ran 11 miles and got to listen to a lot of music. Good tunes. Great little device. Barely knew it was there. Speakers sound really good. I'm now a convert to music while running. I want to give you a BIG thanks!
  7. Ah man! That's a bummer. See...that would be my luck if I drove one hour to buy a masterlink right before a big trip. I'd get home and.....Fu@#!
  8. Packed and ready to go. I'll drop it off on the way to work tomorrow. Walt
  9. I have a five-link piece of DID 530 x-ring. It's marked 50 ZVS. It's been hanging on a nail waiting for you. pm your address and I'll send it to you. Walt If anyone else needs some 525...I have a seven-link DID piece marked 525 V8.

    Chains

I've seen people get 25k+ out of the stock chain. I never got more than about 15k out of a replacement chain either. I don't do smiley face burnouts and they wear out at 20k like clockwork. lol...
  15. Nope...But...if you need the rubber grommet for the taillight stabilizer post that causes all the rattling when you cross RR tracks.....I thought I saw one on the shelf next to a starter from a 63 spilt window Vette. Sorry! Walter
  16. Last chance folks....I'm heading up to Joe's Place Friday morning. Hurry up and buy something! I have room on the trailer.
  17. You are lucky to have recovered the XX, despite the condition I have a new candy glory red tank, and a spare front fender, pm me to discuss Not meaning to hijack....but how much for the front fender? Mine has a crack spreading from the bolt holes. and out of curiosity...how much for the tank? Thanks! Walter
  18. Ok guys...I'm offering some help so you can buy one of Joe's remaining bikes. If you buy one, I can transport it back to the Cincinnati area free of charge. I'm going to pick up the CB350 shortly and will have another slot open on the trailer. So... if you've been wanting one but didn't want to drive that far, perhaps this will sweeten the deal? Let me or Joe know.
  19. I'll take the red one. I'll call you to work out a pickup time. This will be fun! I can't wait to get started on it. Walter
