  1. i'm not going to ozarxx. just rednexxt and wixxt. we can either hook up in chicago or i could get it to tim, i'm sure you'll be seeing him. or i could send it to you if you want it quicker. lemme know.
  2. found it. you coming to rednexxt? 815-483-4889
  3. i'll check my junk drawer, chris. i had one of those and dropped it and broke the case. the gun worked good so the guts were fine. i'm pretty sure i kept the parts just in case (re: packrat). its yours if i still have it, i may have to look at work monday.
  4. "Snap-On Corporation replaces those parts to him. " thats correct. no skin off his back at all. some dealers are just better about it than others, your experience may vary. about other brands, i have found matco to be similar or better in quality at a slightly lower price (still expensive off the truck though). dealer service, at least in my area, has been excellent. our dealer even warranties holesaws and cobalt drill bits larger than 3/8. he even warrantied one of those rebranded (3rd party made and everyone else put their name on it) electrical do-dads for me that i bought off the mac truck.as always the best deals can be found on ebay. mac tools are also similar in quality but the dealer network really sucks.
  5. they do have a lifetime warranty. whether they need to be broken or just worn out looking depends on the dealer. one of my dealers would either break them or tell me how to. just find the dealer in your area and call him or shag him down at one of his stops. in a pinch you could contact snap on through their website. i emailed mac when we lost our mac guy and they sent me prepaid stickers to mail the broken tools back to them, and offered me a job as a mac dealer which i passed on.
  6. congrats on the 2hp. thats about where i'm stuck at the moment. +1 on cooking being a chore. i like to cook, but its not as appealing when you "have" to do it. my grill has been getting a workout though. for quick stuff i have found blue bunny low carb yogert (4 grams) thats very good. and healthy life bread (5 grams per slice) for sandwiches or toast. eating out definitly limits your choises. red lobster, steak houses or buffets are the best bet.
  7. i dont have any pix of minebut its just a home made wooden one. 2x12s i think, it was in the garage when i bought the house. i just moved it out when i demo'd the old garage and moved it into the new one. craftsman has some nice ones that come on sale now and then and have drawers and pegboards and shit if you dont want to build yourself. a lot of guys build a frame of some sort and go to Menards HomeDepot or Lowes and pick up a cheap countertop for the top. if you ask in the millwork dept they usually have damaged or returned tops super cheap. not sure where to go for plans but i bet google does
  8. shell rotella 5w40 synthetic here. recommended by many others on the board. its about 13 bucks a gallon at wally world.
  9. carbed for injected doesnt matter, you should be ok. as tim said most of the gas around here has been 10% for years.
  10. i'm down about 8-10 pounds and i can tuck my work shirts in again. 8)
  11. i just got a new catalog and it appears that they did do away with the free shipping. but they also got rid of the handleing charge that they would stick you with even with the free shipping. now orders of $100 and up are $9.99 to ship.
  12. i'll take a set, if there is enough interest to make it happen.
  13. a lot of the ratcheting wrenches are made by gearwrench (or the makers of gearwrench) and relabeled so they are top quality. i have a 1/2 drive extra long flex head ratchet from husky (home depot) that is a piece of shit. the only thing i use it for is to bar engines over and i have had to replace it twice. its been redesigned and i broke the new model too. but since i dont do engine work every day like i did at KW, i just cant see replacing it with a $200 snapon :? .
  14. i have experimented with a lot of their stuff over my career. most of it i would stay away from, even though its got a warranty, sometimes its just not worth the hassle. heres what didnt work out for me: small wrenches and sockets either broke or rounded out the fastener i was working on. most of their air tools are weak and dont last very long. screwdrivers twist very easily. same with the allens. pliers & vice grips loose their teeth, slip, twist and generally just suck. heres what has worked for me: a $10 die grinder is still going strong after about 17 years. the collett broke once so i bought another grinder (same model). it wasnt as strong so i just changed colletts and tossed the weaker grinder in my box at home. i have a large wrench set (1 3/8 to 2), i have used a few of them a lot with no problems. the 3/4 drive impact sockets have been good to me too. i will always recommend craftsman for most tools. good quality at a reasonable price. the screwdrivers and allens arent as good as snapon or matco but the wrenches and sockets are (imho). most snapon and matco stuff can be had for about 1/2 price on ebay. i hardly ever buy off the truck anymore.
  15. along with porsches, some beemers, vipers - i think, and many others. no break in problems.
  16. water wetter? if so, go to pep boys its cheaper though i cant remember what i paid. it keeps the temp down a bit but dont count on any extra hp.
  17. +1 on the underground telephone line. then seal the crack with just about any kind of caulk.
  18. but, the ever popular shell rotella that some of us use and love is 5w40 synthetic.
  19. he's gotta be taller than that, they use the centemeters up there edited to add that i would switch to syn at the first oil change, imho.

ya got a permit for that thing, nik. i got a certified letter from our town telling me that we now have a zoning dept and that i need to buy a permit.
  21. damn this is an old thread. six, the hack i was talking about was the previous owner of the house. anything he did here was before my time. believe me i wouldnt hire him to change a light bulb. i do all of my own work.
