  1. Who has changed the stock ones? What did you use?
  2. You could always go up 1 tooth then your speedo would read accurately.
  3. You must like those Kawi triples  I have a 76 RD400.....2smokes are a hoot!!
  4. Has anyone gone 1 tooth over? What is it like? Does the speedo read accurate?
  5. I don't think I have ever heard of a Bird overheating unless something else was wrong. Try some water wetter or something similar if you are concerned with the temps.
  6. I believe that most pumps blend the fuel to come up with the various octanes. Around here several stations have 5 grades of gas  Probably the biggest problem with running leaded gas in a fuel injected engine is the O2 sensor. Lead tends to foul them after a while. Xylene makes for a great octane booster and fuel system cleaner. I run this reguarly in the Grand National when I want to turn up the boost. I have never had problems with 87 octane in the Bird.

    Ventura luggage

I have the Ventura bag also. It will hold quite a bit of stuff and is real convenient. If you don't want it on its only 4 bolts to take it off.
  8. kneedraggers still list them http://www.kneedraggers.com/index.php?partno=511-CT-32
  9. Does it do this at idle? Do you have to raise the idle speed to keep it running? Have you pulled the plugs out to see if they are all burning the same? As you can see a problem like this is very hard to figure out over the internet. Too bad most shops have morons for mechanics, they are parts replacers not mechanics, so if something out of the ordinary comes up they don't have a clue. A lot of the shops around here have never even sold a XX let alone worked on one.
  10. Hey peeps, Nice meeting you in Topeka at the Formula USA races this last weekend! If you make it to the eastern side of KS again or to Cassoday let us know.

    Which Bars

They need to be from the newest VFR 02-04.

    Which Bars

The VFR bars are more level, higher and pulled back. They also look better IMO and are cheaper. All in all one of the best things I have done to the Bird!
  13. How are things going? Too bad you have so much time and money in a problem that most likely will be something small. Let us know when you get it running right.
  14. Mine started doing this after I put new tires (Avon) and brake pads on. Its usually between 35-45mph. It seems worse on different pavement.
  15. If you get your bike back and want to go for a nice loooong ride there are a few of us meeting at Grand Lake in Oklahoma this sat. the 28th.
  16. Any luck on finding the problem yet?
  17. Raising the bars helps quite a bit but if that doesn't work for you then I would go with the VFR bars. They are higher and pulled back some and the ends don't drop off like the stock bars do. Also its a simple change. As far as a Corbin seat goes see if you can sit on someone elses bike that has one. They are expensive and some like them and others don't. The more you ride the better it gets.
  18. Why are you wanting to lower it? I think 1" might be to much in the front, a few milimeters would be all that you might want to do. If you look at the triangle where the dog bone and shock connect one side is a little closer between the bolt holes if you rotate this it will give you about a 1" drop in the back without changing anything else.
  19. Didn't someone say that the 02 had a larger possibly better R/R? If so is it a plug and play for older Birds?
  20. Find anything out yet?
