I was considering these until I spoke to Jack an NEXXT and he showed me the discoloration problem ...now that it seem to be fixed...I will get some ...they look great on ApolloXX's bike...Ill wait until Dave and Jack post replacement pics...do it as part of my winter make over. Ralph

How hard is it to install a jet kit on the Bird??? who has done it ? any tips R-

Try a blow drier to heat the sticker till you can get the corner up and continue using the heat as you slowly peal it off .... check the Tapeworks at http://www.tapeworks.com/Pages/removal.html tells jyou how to do it Ralph

i havent pulled the plugs but the dealers mechanic said they looked good...I interviewed/interogated him at the shop... I did drop the bike last year low speed mostly fairing damage on the right side ...think that has anything to do with it ???

Pete, I didnt report anything else after the first post because I was waiting on the CCT to arrive ...I had hoped that that would be the fix...it has gotten progressively worse as the summer has gone on...the dealer did the carb sync and compression test ( or says he did ) when I took it to the shop in July Balancers??? What you talking bout willis? Birdie XX , I am only kidding about selling , thats just frustration talking and if I did I would be getting another one maybe in Titanium

thanks Joe, cheap bastage that I am I'll try and borrow one b4 I go to radio shack. I was thinking a bad plug wire maybe... was thinking of replacing all of them ...couldnt hurt...do you know if accel makes coils for the bird?? I've got 10k miles on a 97 xx... but if I cant figure thisout I'm thinking of sell her anyonein the nyc area care to take a listen i'll ride to you ...i need a second opinion ... the dealer mechanic say how strong she runs and blah,blah blah...but he doesnt know how smooth it was b4 Ralph

3 cylinders is what it sounds like...but it still pulls pretty hard ...I dont have anything to compare it to....and the vibes in the bars is getting worse...fingers are numb after 15-20 minutes...foot gets numb if i rest it against the heel guard... Joe, what type of temp probe would you suggest ...I'll try anything at this point

Help...Heres the story so far, I was having a vibration problem and posted for suggestions from the board... since then I have had the bike in the shop twice with no results ...I have changed the air cleaner to a K&N ( made it worse) and then a new OEM filter (better but not fixed)...Dealer says he found a split vac hose and replaced it ...but as soon as the bike is hot it starts vibing again ... dealer says he ran compression test ect... and found nothing but slit hose....Now Im thinking it might be Ignition related .. its like I'm riding a lawnmower ..or a speed triple Its ridable but now I'm thinking about NEXXT and need to get it fixed for the trip... I also changed the CCT last week ...no change. the question how do I test the plug wires and coils on my 97 XX...since the problem appears when the bike is hot and feels like I lose a cylinder and am runnig on three I know I am rambling here ..but I am frustrated and open to all suggestions

where do you get the CCT , site ,dealer,ect... R-

Not the chain..for sure ...happens when in neutral...after further inspection .. sound/vibration happens through out rev range just more noticeable above 4000...sucks too, buzz through the bars ..Icant enjoy even a short ride ...gotta get it fixed ... just mounted my new tires ...the sun is shining today and I took my car, just to give you an Idea of how bad it is. :cry: :cry: R-

No :sad: ---I just put on new tires and cant ride because I am afraid that what ever it is is going to hurt the engine....on top of that we have had two days of good weather (mornigs at least) at last...going to pull the tank and air box off and check the plugs and wires ...thats as far as I will go myself ... then its off to the dealer if that dont fix it :sad: and there goes my new exhaust money but I'd rather have a sound bike w/stock pipes Still open for suggestions R-

Finally mounted my new pilot roads ... the diffrence is amazing... it like point and shoot now ...although my comparison is the bt57's :evil: that came on the bike when I got it....Oh what a diffrence a good tire makes :grin: :grin: :grin: R-

Ok so heres the deal, the last couple of rides I have been noticing a vibration when at highway speeds ...its comeing from the engine ...almost like a miss but it is not there at idle...and it seems to be getting worse I am going to take the bike to the local honda dealer to have it checked out .. but I thought I would ask here first ..so that I have an idea of what might be going on before I turn it over to them....by the way I changed the oil and plugs about a month ago when I first started sensing there might be a problem....it was very light at first and has grown into a very noticeable buzz Do you think changing the CCT would help -I only have 8500 mi on it any help is appricated on this issue also I am going to have my new Pilot Roads installed this weekend anyway ...cant wait to try em

Decision made ....I went with the Pilot Roads from swmototire...I will update when I recieve them and put them on thanks for the help Ralph
