  2. My '03 is left for 6-8 months at a time on a tender and full tank of fuel with Seafoam mixed in. Starts like it was ridden the day before. Been doing this for 3 years.
  3. A new tire is less than your insurance deductible. YMMV

  7. I have a 2004 Aprilia RSVR with less than 3000 miles, always garaged. Willing to trade it for an '03 xx in equally superb condition. All inquirys PM only. Bike is in South Florida.
  8. I put 1/4 inch rubber pad on the bottom of the V1 and velcro after. With velcro also centered on the dash plus the suction cups no mount needed. Its also out of the weather. The Stemstand didn't work too well on the other bike, Ram Mount is a better option. YMMV
  9. Did you have Traxxion revalve it? Or is it stock valving? Jeff Stock valving
  10. Stock spring included, if that's what you meant

  12. In the 80's they used polybutylene, a completely different product. An Oxygen molecule was left out of the poly formula and the piping and plastic fittings both failed. Shell and Celanese were the component suppleirs, and 2 class-action suits at nearly 2 billion settled the problem. PEX works. I also have Master Plumber License #5 in my County. FWIW
  13. + 1 for University Motors, Mike Barth, 866-551-6478
  14. Just got a bunch of parts from UMotors with the assistance of Mike Barth. Great prices and service and informed of shipping details without asking. I should run my business this well.
  15. I would talk to several local Plumbers as they should know as much about your local water quality as the water weenies. The weenies sell you way more than necessary because that is their one trick. An honest Plumber may well be able to install/advise on the minimum necessary to suit your needs. Every areas water quality and conditions are different so without knowing what kind of water, how old and what type of piping the distribution system is made of and the piping in your house, any non-specific answer would be smoke up your skirt.
  16. Would a Power Commander on an 03 XX with stock exhaust have any benefits or would I be going backwards(again)?
  17. It sounds like the thermowell, the temperature sensor/probe on the back of the control that screws into the tank is encrusted and not getting an accurate reading or the calibration on the thermostat is going bad. At 15 years, you've gotten your moneys worth from it.
  18. The P-trap keeps a water seal between the vent and the fixture, so the odor is not likely from the vent. Check the sink overflow, the hole near the inside top of the sink away from the faucet. They can get a stinky build-up so pour some bleach through it. Are you getting odor from just one fixture? If so it is drainage, as stinky incoming water will affect many fixtures.
  19. Thanks for all the replys, the reality check, and the difference between price and value. My insurance deductable and my hide are far more than the cost of a tire.
  20. The rear tire, a Metzler M-3 with 300 miles went flat, a small 3/8" inch cut. Is it smart or safe to patch the tire and put a tube in it? I would not patch it and feel safe, but a patch to keep from pinching the tube could work. Flame away
  21. Look here http://www.rattlebars.com/mtz/hornrelay.html
  22. When I send a PM my sentbox does not register them? Is there a control I have overlooked?
  23. Could a 41mm be honed to fit without sacrificing too much strength?
  24. In the Pub is listed a 99 XX with a sidehack. One of the features of that set-up are Hawk handlebars, from the Hawk GT, 88-91. Ron Ayers fische lists 2 #s for these bars as there are 2 different amounts of rise for them. They are 41mm, correct for the XX. I think you would need longer brake and clutch cables as the higher rise bars are about 4 inches more than stock. Anyone ever done this conversion and what was necessary to do it properly?
