  1. Thanks for the replys, I used 2 pieces of steel & the sandwich method with c-clamps, but I could easily see using the old pads & a screw driver to get it done. The pistons dont require as much force as I initially expected.
  2. A cleaner method is to use, LPG or LP-gas from a small hand held torch, turn the torch gas on & fumigate it around the suspected areas if you notice an idle change, there is a leak
  3. Is there any easy way to recess the pistons in the front calipers ? There are three pistons for each caliper & dont think a C-clamp will fit in ?? Trying to install new brake pads but the old brake pads were worn way way down causing the pistons to be extended a little to far to even fit the new pads, much less the rotor. Thanks
  4. No major changes only a one wire difference http://www.cbr1100xx.org/forums/index.php?...397&hl=dash http://www.cbr1100xx.org/forums/index.php?...923&hl=dash
  5. if it is not a vaccum leak or air leak or mechanical It must be tuning related, hanging idle is usually a lean condition
  6. You would have to rebuild the whole frame, to be able to support the heavy engine, that is the 250R which is designed for a light weight 2-stroke engine. It is common practice to redue the whole frame in chromoly steel tubing, when converting to a large motorcycle engine. If not the frame will produce stress cracks & eventually break in2, Just welding braces at the bends probably would'nt be enough.

    Any Ideas?

What size hole you need ? Maybe something to get through the chrome then use a traditional style bit, something like this EBAY
  8. One notch I wouldnt worry about it, although the shop may have bent your rotor ?
  9. The carbon fiber Yoshi's will run you closer to a grand, Micron is known for their quality & sound.
  10. Disagree. That bike was not stored outside in the weather- just look at it! I'd jump on it and ride it across country with those tires and brake hoses- no problem. Just check tire pressures and change brake/clutch fluids. Are you seriously worried about a 786 mile use o-ring chain as well? Your fears and worries are baseless in this case, amigo. Gorgeous bike, wish you good luck with the sale. You obviously don't know much about 'tire shelf life'. Tires have a shelf life of 3 to5 years max and after that, the rubber dried out (internally that you can't see) and hardened. Just google it or call any tire manufacturer customer support line. Here is a typical link: http://www.tireguardusa.us/articles/whenTh...eetsTheRoad.php +1, true it is an exceptionally clean bike with super low miles, but the tires have probably lost their bite........ All should be inspected after such a long storage, but I think the brake lines & chain should be fine. & new tires should be purchased right away, as a safety pre-caution, theres nothing like buying a bike & dumping it a few miles down the road. My .02c
  11. I wonder how it sounds? Hope it sounds better than it looks... +1 not a big fan of the shotgun look either. Quoted from ad Little steep ay ?????

  14. Either Or you wont notice a difference & has no affect on engine life. I keep mine attached to the bottom of the airbox
  15. if it only dropped .09 it would be approx 1.2amps & 14.5 watts
  16. Does have the appearance of a scam. WTTW I ran across a site at one time where I seen people selling & buying used but active ebay accounts for ~$100+ with feedback the older the account the more it was worth.
  17. ***Hijack*** What special about 7500 miles ? Nice bike/price should sell fast
  18. Dont know why just the headlight, but those are classic symptoms of a bad R/R
  19. You could run a hot from the battery, then tap into the ground wire pre-thermostat & the lights would come on with the key.
  20. Put it up for auction on Ebay It will sell & it will probably sell for a good price .
  21. Whats been done to the bike ? Turbo/NOS ? Are you upgrading to a 14 or busa ?
  22. Second from the top is where factory pro suggested I start..that was the same time as using the 148 jets at 4 turns from bottom. If I were running too rich wouldnt the choke make it worse? The choke should not be used to diagnose an issue, while it may be true it could also be wrong, due to several other variables. You can also use the pilot screws as a bandade for improper jetting, If you are jetted too rich then turn clockwise, jetted lean counter-clockwise. This will not cure the issue but may help smooth it out some. I would recomend staying under <4 & no less than 3 on the pilot screws.
