  1. Ok, you might try this. Get a bottle of Castrol "Dragon Power" cleaner and dump some in the gas tank. What a difference it made in my bike. I have a 97 and it runs like new now. I even put a little in my lawn mower that was running like crap. Running great now. Ken

  4. So that $115.95 Group Buy price represents a fairly hefty 30% savings.... which is pretty cool. Well if it's close to the same price. I am in!! Ken
  5. I might be interested as well. Ken
  6. Good point, but I am a stock kind of guy. Standard gearing. Ken
  7. Ok, I have only about 8,000 miles on my chain and it is the red (replace) mark one my bike already. Been having this guy here local replace my chain. This is the second one and I am not happy. I oil it every 300 miles. WTF! So, I am not going back. Going to try and do this myself. Now is changing the sprockets a hard job? What kind of chain tool should I purchase? And I am assuming I should go with the DID - ZVM chain? What about sprockets? Was going to purchase from Louie if I can. Ken
  8. Ok will try that. I did increase the rpm's a little when the fan was off and it went up just a touch. Not much though! Ken
  9. Thanks for the link Surf!! Well after putting in a new battery we checked the volts and it is between 13.80 and 14.40 volts. Depends if I had the high beam and brake light on. Now when the fan kicked in it droped just below 13 volts. Is this ok?
  10. LOL, I wish it was just my kill switch. Ken
  11. Well I think I have the same problem. Riding yesterday down 144 in PA (doing the speed limit of course  ) I looked down and my speedo and tach were not working. Shit. So I figured it was just a fuse and kept going. Not long afterwords my bike starts spitting and the dies. Fuck! In the middle of no were. We checked the fuses and all seemed ok. Unpluged all my extra shit and pushed started her and off we went. 10 miles later died again. Two of my buddies went to Walmart picked me up a battery and I made it home. Have to check the volts tonight, but it sounds like the reg/rec is shot. If that is the case I think I will go with the R1 reg/rec. As Peter posted it is $100 cheaper then the Honda and better. Now has anybody did this swap with a brand new R1 part and not a used one with the wires? Ken
  12. Bagster tank cover! Ken
  13. Received my Avon tire yesterday as promised. Great price. Speedy shipping. Louie and Paula are great people to deal with. They have my business from now one. Thank you very much, Ken
  14. Do you have the right size connector for the wire size? Are you using a wire crimpper or just pliers? Might try stripping back the wire and then fold the end over and place the connector on the folded wire and recrimp. Ken
  15. I knew that was coming!!!
  16. Craig, my buddy has the color screen gps. It is great!!! Turn by turn mapping. It talks to you. I have been looking at them, but have not found one that cheap. Ken
  17. We had the same problem. Ended up taking the hose right off the bleeder screw and just used a wrench on the nipple it self. Mu buddy would open the nipple and I would squeeze the clutch lever. He would tighten it up and I would release the lever. Just like doing brakes on a car. That was the only way we could get all the fliud and air out. Ken
  18. Yep, that would be it. Do yourself a favor and replace it with a X-11 CCT. I did and no more noise at all. Ken
  19. Not sure bud, I have that on my watch list right now. Ends today. If you need it, I won't bid. Ken
  20. Ok, yes I did do a search and read a bunch of posts about pads. So, I would like opinions for pads for my needs. Do not want replacement pads that are rough on the rotors. A buddy recommends "friction preformance" but they don't seem to make them for the XX. On that same note I don't want pads that I have to heat up (I guess race pads?). I have no idea what pads are on the bike now. Is there a way to tell once I remove them? Should have looked last night when I mounted the new tires. Anyway, suggestions. Need to do this quick. Thanks, Ken
  21. Do you have a tire plug kit and spare blubs? Might be somthing to think about. Hope you have a nice/safe trip. Ken
