  1. Mine's been off and on for 10 years,4 of which I rode it on the street too. Ya,I should probably do that fix too. Congrats on the win.
  2. There were two different lengths to the 900 shock,92-94,then 95 up something like that. When I first got my XX in 2001 a buddy with a 96 900rr gave me his spare shock so I could lower the bike.Ended up using the adjustable link off the F2 instead.
  3. Is there room at all to flip the shifter arm straight up instead of down? Worked on my '91 F2.
  4. You can use iirc almost any year VFR from 86 to the VFR800,but remember those are 16t.Part #'s are 23801-ML7-??? or 23801-MW3-???,(? because I'm doing it from memory). They cost about 3x the price of a good quality aftermarket sprocket.
  5. Yep,I've got one.Cover the shipping charges and its yours or this mystery persons. Suppose now I have to figure shipping? Where's it going? How fast do you need it? Al Btw,I have a 99,stretched,lowered(swingarm parallel to ground),the only thing in the way is seat lock and just barely at that.I've cut away all the stock fender.Only under a hard launch does it just barely scratch the tire.I'm wondering if his rr shock is too soft?
  6. I can personally attest to this bike being well maintained. BTW Pat,I changed jobs. Al
  7. Was wondering about that "make an offer",worked for me on my ZX10 rim I just bought. The timing is just a little off for me,a month ago or 2 months from now could be different.Damn, always the way.
  8. Drool. I would drive half way across the country for those.Unfortunately my drive is a bit longer.... And I've spent a few bucks on the Bird lately. Nice find.
  9. I had to use a thin ,repeat THIN bead of silicone to hold the gasket in place around the spark plugs.Went in from the front just because, can't remember if I even tried the other way.It was tight but went first try after the silicone applied.
  10. I'd be willing to give a HI-flo a try,the oil filters seem to have no problems.
  11. What's wrong with having your dealer order it in? Should be faster than Ronayers etc, maybe more$ but you don't pay shipping. Be careful if you order one online you don't order the 97-98 filter, its different. I didn't think BMC made one for inj. Birds.
  12. Holy shit,I have exactly that,a 30mm set gathering dust, and I just re-discovered them last weekend. But what helmet do you have? These are old Quantum/RX7 pads.
  13. Tom,I think you're being followed....
  14. No.Totally different. Sounds very much like a bad relay. You can jump it by bridging the two connections on the relay with a wire.
  15. I think I would first look to rent elsewhere. However, very little drips out, just have a bolt ready to block the line with and be careful how you position the tank for transport as I'm sure you will.Be careful lifting the tank up to get at the lines,if you stretched too hard the line can leak, don't ask me how I know.I use a mallet to prop it up.Its actually pretty accessible from the sides.
  16. I stand corrected. It still sounds like a crazy thing to do.What gets me is why THAT long to adapt? Well, its in the manual so the operator can not be faulted.
  17. Myself, I wouldn't like to leave my brand new unbroken in motor just sit and idle for almost a half hour. Fuck no! I wouldn't leave anything idling for that long, you could starve the top end of oil. Didn't one of the guys on here say he had a Triumph tuning buddy? I'd ask the service guys at the dealer you got it from, they may have seen this done or seen the results.
  18. And he has great avatar pics! I'm keeping you in mind Scott, since I don't work at a Honda dealer anymore, don't need anything yet but the time will come. Al
  19. I suffer from the same issue,I just haven't been able to pay for what I want. The bike is becoming a matter of "should I bother,or should I pursue something else?" kinda thing.A local guy just went 8.90 on a 2007 ZX14 this year, with nothing more than a 6" stretch,Muzzy sidewinder and elect assist shifter. My new job is at a Kaw/Arctic Cat dealer and there is this new ZX14R.......
  20. Doesn't have to be Hank.I'm always broke and I've gone 9.67,which sadly is becoming a distant memory as I've gotten slower the last 2 years after getting consistly quicker for the first 7! My biggest expense was the used arm/shock from Dean (which I considered a can't miss opportunity). All in all just the racing modes to the bike would have cost me about $1200,but factor in pulling apart the motor for new rings and then paying large to have it fixed since my friend forgot a couple dowels and an o-ring-another $700. I could run that 10.1 class without the s/arm,but I am lighter than most .
  21. Grahams' design has the option of running single or dual exhaust.
  22. Is he swapping a carb s/a or an f.i. s/a ? I have one of each.
