  1. BMW1600GTL And I want to test ride it at TexxT.
  2. Nice write up on ixxra. Thanks all.
  3. Started to work this morning and it was there. Got to work and it wasn't. Throttle side. Didn't hear it or notice when it fell off. So I guess at this point I might as well mount the VFR bars that I bought about three years ago. I tried to search for threads that talked about the VFR bar swap but for whatever reason, the search in Gaage for VFR turned up no results? Does anybody have a link to the thread that talked about using stock brake and clutch cables? Didn't they have to be re-routed? Or not?
  4. I have a Yammy VStar650 I would make a hell of a deal for you........ not quite an M109 but it is a vtwin and haves two wheels, so they have that in common.
  5. Its been so long since I sat n a VFR12... but I don't rememebr the lowers being close to knees. Are you like 6'9" with a 46 in seam?
  6. The combat lites are comfortable. Don't really feel like they are hot. They are pretty heavy and quite industrial.
  7. The more I look at the big VFR, the more it grows on me. But me dressing up the bird last month really put a dent in my play fund. I need a couple of big months and then some luck.....
  8. My next boots will be Gasolinas. http://www.gasolinaboots.com/index.html I'm on the fence whether to get Typhoon or Autobahn. I've seen two pair of Gasolinas in person and beleive them to be well made. I also like the custom fitted nature fo the boot as well. I am also blown away by the price. I wear my Sidi Combat Touring lites at work right now. When I need a more appropriate shoe I switch to the brown loafers or black cap-toe shoes I keep under my desk.
  9. All I have right now is the USB charging port... a Blue Sea dual USB http://www.bluesea.com/products/1016/Dual_USB_Charger_Socket/featured . I intend to add a battery voltmeter, and possibly extra LED driving lights later. I'm sure the AP-1 is a lot of over kill but ....I like it. I've also added a relay tied to the tail light so it is switched on and off via the key. I have mounted the AP-1 almost exactly were Brett has his mounted. The relay is where his Amplirider is. I stuff my little tool kits under the strap so I would prefer to not uses Phillip's location. I'll have to mull over trimming one of the seat hooks.
  10. So I spent a decent amount of time yesterday wiring up my Centech AP-1 fuse box and USB charging port thingy. I was very proud of my high quality electrical work. Very proud until I tried to put the seat back ont he bike. The mofo Centech fouls the seat stay bracket. So... were do you guys that have successfully mounted a Centech AP-1 mount the damn thing? Assuming the use of the nastural stock undertray.
  11. You forgot powder-coating or polishing the frame. And plastidipping the fork legs and swing arm.....
  12. Hank - Ha! Its taken me over a year to source a lower right fairing and then get around to actually replacing it. I can not imagine how long it would take me to swap out frames. Sure, I know there are some on this board that could swap a frame in a week end. But not me. It would take me months. First I would have to over analyze it to death, decide that the frame swap would be the perfect time to do all the bearings, worry about gettting the right bearings, price bearings from 36 different suppliers, once that is gnawed to pieces, then I would probably decide jet coating the header should also be done, and maybe that second fan on the radiator, HIDs [or not], since the bike is going to be apart how about finally addressing that potential wire loom problem that my 99 might have, research wire loom probblems, and what about the PAIR block offs, and finally getting that power commander installed if I could only find the old lap top that has the map Eric sent me in 2008. And I have a 2 1/2 year old that likes to "help" me in the garage and a wife that thinks it cute when he puts allen wrenches in the exhaust pipe. So my rare garage time isn't the most productive time. I'll stick with trying to get my new fairing installed and new tires mounted in time for OzarXX. But thanks.
  13. Last April I had a crash. Tucked the front end at about 20mph. Broke off the right peg, rashed the lower right fairing, scratched the right mirror housing. I rode the bike home, slapped a peg on it and then later that week rode it to Austin for MotoGp. Been riding it ever since. Commuting, TeXXt, back and forth to Lousiana a couple times. About 5k miles. No problems. finally got a lower right fairing. When I went and took the rashed fairing off, I discovered the frame has an indention where the fairing stay is welded on. Close inspection does not reveal a crack. The mounting point is a little off kilter but believe I could/can mount the new fairing. I'm pretty confident in the bike, looking forward to OzarXX, but its the frame. The bike tracks true, no shimmy, no weird tire wear. Ignorance was bliss. am I over thinking this?
  14. Sold. Now that I have some money in my paypal......time to go spend it!!
  15. I wasn't bluffing about the ICON stickers. These could be yours for $45. And I'll throw in gloves for free.
