  1. how is your drive chain wear? mine is worn and the main reason I know it is becasue of the slight vibration and also becasue of the tight and loose spots of the chain when I oil it or adjust it. when riding it feels like a weird grinding vibration, but not quite, hard to explain, but I know its the chain.. just a thought. also if your chain has been emiting thaty wonderful red dust between oilings.. good indication its about to die... hope you find it and hope you find its something minor!
  2. what is it? is it something i need? i have cable modem and it will still take 40 minutes, is a video? what what what?
  3. dude you could like save like 2 lbs by going to a 520, and it will like last totally not as long and like it would be soo cool to say I have a 520 on my bike like ya know? :poke: I do like the idea of a triple 850 though that would sound sweet!
  4. ok here is my take, suposedly the valving is too stiff stock to help compensate for soft springs, so I am thinking that you should go with a lower weight (thinner) after you put in the stiffer springs which will loosen up the valving just alittle and make things alittle plusher on the freeway bumps, just my thought and am basically askin what you guys think? I am planing on getting the fork springs and cant afford the gold valves just yet. any comments would be appreaciated
  5. ok where did they put the solenoids? and what about the fuel pump? are they using the stocker? need to know, would be good fun to have thaty set up for those occasional blasts when some dumbass on a r1 runs up next to ya
  6. I agree with swampy, take the money and do the mods on your old bird, it will be way better than a stock fi model, and prolly cost less and it will be your own custom not just a simple stocker, and you can paint it yellow! like tweety's bird or if you want to be real fast you can keep it black.whatever its all good!
  7. to keep the dunlops from cupping you have to run the front tire backwards.. seems strange but the owner of lees said the dunlop techs (he rides for them) told him thats the trick. I love my 208's, I lean the bike over far enough and fast enough for hard parts to rub, and have never even gotten a slide out of em, and I am on the gas hard out of corners (not race speeds but fast enough for the street) and I am getting .. well the set I am on now has shit over 6000 on em, and I ride in the twistys all the time, althogh not I dont ride hard all the time. the tires are great all around performers, I will not even try another tire. :cycle:
  8. LOVE WHERE YOU PARK YOUR BIKE! thats the way I like to the bird taken care off!
  9. and.. if your smart.. or just inclined to have little things just totally dissapear.. (like me) go to the dealer and get a couple of those little rubber thingys before you do the job, just incase.. they um.. dissapear... I just did what you are doing and the bottom right one pulled out as I took the screen off and it got sucked up by the black holel in every bike that makes bolts and circlips and shit like that dissapear... just a word of caution... good luck I love my cheeta
  10. really all you need is to find out what jet sizes the kit comes with and go to the dealer and buy them yourself they are cheap, like 3.50 each needles a bit more but still cheap.. I would tell you what sizes they put in but I wasnt there and dont know.. so if one of you guys knows which jets ya put in the other guys here can just buy the jets good luck it is the way to go
  11. honda hp, excellent stuff, used to use maxima chain wax, but this honda stuff is jsut excellent, I apply jsut like the guy above does put on when chain is warm, roll the tire a few to work the lube in and then since I live in so cal and dont need to worry about corrosion, I wipe off excess and my chain looks brand new, all the time with no fling off
  12. so did they fix it? its wednesday and was wondering if ole escondido cycle center took care of there customer! hope so, expect a email from me when I get done moving so we can go for a ride.. I want to see how these revalved forks of yours work for myself!
  13. from the sounds of what your trying to describe, like a spring squeak (pogo stick) it is probably just the springs rubbing against the inside of the fork legs, which to a point is normal and ok. but I would check it out if its bad, or have a mechanic check it out if you arent sure. I could come over some time and check it out for ya. you are so close to palomar mountain it would be worth the ride.
  14. when I had my exhaust and jetting done I asked to put a k&n in at the same time and the owner of Lees cycles in san diego told me that the K&N's do NOT flow as good as a stock honda filter and showed me dyno graphs taken on his dyno showing me. it wasnt a major diff but it was there, he saved me 60 bucks in the past K&N's have always worked better than stock, but honda came up with a good stocker. keep it I wish all the others would too so I could stop buying K&N's for my car, and truck , and girls car and her truck......
