  1. Unless you are desperate to sell I would not come down on the price. The riding season is coming and there will be plenty of springtime buyers. Kelly Blue Book puts it at $8825 so I would say $7900 is good deal with all the extras you have on it. 32k miles is not a lot for a touring bike.
  2. Joined Nov 06 and your first post? What are you waiting for? I've not heard of using another thermo switch, but it is normal for the XX to run hot. Just do a search there are tons of threads on the subject.
  3. Want to sell the Throttlemeister separately? We need a little 'circling vulture' icon for threads like this... Nice bike, it looks really clean. Warmer weather is coming, It'll sell quick.
  4. I've run them on other bikes and loved them, I really could tell a difference on the '02 919. I have a set of Galfer lines for the XX, but I haven't bothered to put them on yet...
  5. Not sure if I would call them all "Farkles" but here are some of the mods I've done. This is what I could think of, there is probably more... Double RAM Mount - Works great, I can mount a camera and a GPS at the same time Galfer SS Clutch/Brake Lines - I haven't attempted to insall the brake lines. Zero Gravity Double Bubble (Dark Smoke) - Its taller than stock and looks great Proteck Frame sliders w/plugs - Frame sliders are cheap compared to body panels Frame plugs - Cover those ugly holes Stebel Air Horn - the best $40 you can spend on your bike Gorilla Alarm w/pager - Works great, cheaper than a Scorpio Street Glow multicolor LED kit - This was on there when I bought the bike, I've never used it... Magnetic oil drain plug - Why not? Tank Bra - Used it for two weeks, didn't really like it Buell footpegs - I'm 6'4" I needed the legroom - I like them Headlight Modulator - Works great to wake up idiot drivers Datatool Gear Indicator - I was always looking for 7th gear, works great 12volt Socket (waterproof cig lighter type outlet) + I use it to power my GPS Mototech Undertail - this was installed before I bought the bike. I've had problems with the wiring CBRXX Billet Chain Guard - Also installed by the previous owner, looks good Blinker Buddy - vibrates my seat when I have my turn signal on, reminds me to turn off my signals, plus it feels good. Colett Communicator (bike to bike) - not perfect but works well Throttlerocker - I like it Vortex Sprocket 1up - it works but I'm not sure if I trust the aluminum rear sprocket Radiator/Oil Cooler Protective Grill - worth the money if it keeps crap out of the radiator fins K&N Air Filter - clean it and re-use it Nelson Rigg Tankbag & Saddlebags - well made and holds tons of crap Oxford Heated Grips - better than sliced bread VFR Clip ons - haven't had them long enough really, but initial impressions are good. Voltmeter - with all the electronic crap I've installed I thought it would be a good idea to keep an eye on the electrical system -Coming Soon- Cuise Control - throttlemeister, audiovox, I havent really decided. Corbin Seat - I really like the smuggler but it sure aint cheap... Suspension upgrades - front and rear, I have lots of research to do... Whistler Cruisader Radar Detector - Cheaper than a speeding ticket?
  6. 5k on those doesn't sound too far off. I have about 6000 on a set of Pilot Powers. The rear is getting close, I will probably have to replace it in the next month or so. I'm looking at the Pilot Road 2 and the Metzeler Z6. I had the Z6 on my 919, they were good tires. But seems like everything I read about the Road 2 is positive. They aren't cheap though...
  7. Your right AAA usually wont touch a bike. But the AMA has a service called MOWTOW. I've had it for years. The peace of mind is well worth the extra $25. http://www.amadirectlink.com/roadride/motow.asp
  8. A little JB Weld and it will be good as new...
  9. I've been looking a adding a voltmeter too. I've added a ton of electrical farkles and it would probably be a good idea to keep an eye on the charging system. I like the second one on this page (Signal Dynamics) it is a little single LED Battery Gauge, that lights up different colors to show voltage. The first one (Kuryakyn) on the page is pretty slick too. Is anyone using either of these or something different?? http://www.customdynamics.com/LED_battery_gauge.htm
  10. When I was buying the black duct tape I noticed that duct tape now comes in pink? There is a fashion statement. :icon_silenced: I ended up getting a replacement tail section from SSUXX on the .com site. Nice guy, he gave me a great deal.
  11. Apparently Honda Direct is having a Thanksgiving Sale. 10% off of $100 or more. Here is the link where I read it... http://www.m109riders.com/forum/index.php/topic,22621.0.html
  12. Holly spell check Batman ! "It Has LBS Brakeing Systim"
  13. It is not a Datatool, the cord on mine runs straight out the back, that one looks like it comes out of the bottom of the unit. It also looks a bit brighter than mine.
  14. That is a heck of a setup. I like it but I'm too chicken to cut into my gauges. I originally mounted mine on top of the tach, now it is below it on that little lip of plastic fairing that runs across. There is a thread on the .com site that has one pict of mine. http://www.cbrxx.com/general-cbr-xx-discus...-indicator.html
  15. I have one. Mine is made by Datatool, I love it, it works great. Installation was pretty straight forward. I think there were maybe five or six wires to splice. Another one I looked at was the Acumen, it is plug and play, and it comes in different colors. I got mine on ebay for about $60. The Datatool http://www.datatool.co.uk/consumer/product...hp?product=digi The Acumen http://www.riderstation.com/catalog/products.php?id=35
  16. Why yes my ass also has a rather large crack in it too. The crack looks like it started from the bottom of the tail section (just behind the passenger pegs, and went up. It hasn't made it up to the area around the front tie down peg. I think it started cracking right were the mototech undertail bolts on the forward right corner. I had just had the entire tail off a couple of weeks ago when I was doing some re-wiring of my farkles. I must have cranked that bolt too tight when I put it all back together? In the mean time I might attempt a repair, it might keep it from spreading. The bike is still ridable but the black duct tape looks like hell.
  17. Any chance you would sell the Corbin seat separately?
  18. Does anyone have a good tail section laying around (in black) I need a replacement for my '03. While wiping it down after a ride the other day I noticed a rather large crack running up from just about where the passenger pegs mount. I've no idea what happened to it, it didn't tip over or anything, I don't think I cranked the bolts too tight on the undertail. Just my luck I guess... I thought I'd check with you guys before I went to Ron Ayers...
  19. And I thought I was bad because I don't like it when the TV volume is set to an odd number... Oh yeah, even numbers only. Seriously.
  20. +1 Just do a search, there are a ton of threads on the subject. I freaked out too when I first got my XX. These bikes were not designed to sit in traffic. It is a trade off, aerodynamics for frontal area. Plus it seems the water pump doesn't flow all that much until the RPMs get up around 4000, so if it is getting warm give it some revs and it will help keep the temp in check.
  21. Now that I think of it, I believe I have a spare left side since the previous owner replaced the right side when he lowsided (wet pavement, new tires). It is still in the package, I was hoping to never have to use it. The slider did its job well, and saved a lot of damage. I have a picture of it at home (I'm at work now). Just to double check, I'll measure that left side one (the L/R are different lengths). And post it up with the picture later today. POST EDIT- I dug up the old thread, the previous owner posted with the picts. Even with the slider he had some pretty good fairing damage but it probably saved the engine casing or radiator... Heres the thread ---> http://www.cbr1100xx.org/forums/index.php?showtopic=33616
  22. It looks just like the ones I have. Mine are made by "Pro-Tek". Here's a link to them... http://www.imotorcyclestore.com/products.c...ROFRH&pt=ML or http://www.pipecity.com/Products/ProductDe...ProductID/65088
  23. Never heard that before. A lot of guys put the SuperBrace on the 919 and I've never heard anythign but praise for them. Did anyone else see this pict on that site? :icon_clap: http://www.superbrace.com/photogallery/det...8&iPic=1965
