  1. Just an FYI, You better watch your ST, a buddy of mine over there (ST-Owners) and a neighbor of mine, had the same thing on his "03 ST" Avon Storm 2's. Dont remember if it was front or rear, but a split occured in between one of the treads. He bought from Two Brothers and Tim had it replaced for him.
  2. Not to hijack your thread, but what is a good replacement bulb that offers more light, and can I go with higher wattage, not looking to go HID.
  3. Tried all online dealers and GIVI, they are out of stock until end of next month. Does anyone have one they would like to sell? I am leaving for a trip next Thursday morning. Thx.

Dip switches are set same as the link says. Just thinking out loud here, but.. can the servo cable be adjusted to ease the surge? If not, I can live with it.

I finished my cruise control install last night and took it out for a test ride today. By far the best farkle I ever added to a bike. Thx to all the good write ups and pictures on this site, and to all the members that took the time to explain the install. Can't wait to put it to the test in 12 days on the way down to the Gap and all the fun roads in between NY an NC. I do have one question. Can anyone tell me if the surge that occurs when the cruise firsts engages be adjusted,or do I just have to live with it?

Been so long since I wired mine I can't remember for sure. Definitely NOT green - green is always ground. Wiring diagram shows: 1) Brown for the tail lamp (for switched power - brown servo wire) 2) Green/Yellow for the brake light (for brake cutoff - purple servo wire) Good luck - if you have LED taillights, you will definitely need resistors or the CCS will not work. Thx. haWHYnXX for the info, just waiting for the cc to arrive and will do the install. I do not have LED's so I am good to go in that regard. Thx. again HD2T
  7. I was able to score one from another site and have read all of the threads on this install and I have two question for the guys that have installed or are in the know about it. All of the threads were super informative and included some excellent pictures on the install. I am mounting the servo in the tail and read to: 1) Tap into the tail lamp for the switched power for the servo (brown wire from servo) goes to what color wire in the tail lamp? 2) Also, tail light has a brake light switch lead (purple wire from the servo) goes to what color wire in the tail lamp for the brake light switch? Thx in advance for any help you can give me.

    Brake Bleeder

Speed Bleeders make it a one man job.
  9. I'm 6'0" so might not be good for me. Seems like the members with aftermarket windshields are recommending the GIVI. Might go that way, plus I spoke to Leo at Laminar Lip and they said a Triumph Sprint ST lip will work with the GIVI for the Bird. Me and a buddy (he's on an ST1300) are going to Great Barrington 5/08/10, Sport-Touring.net is having a ride. That is where we ended up yesterday while bouncing around on a 230 mile round tripper. If you would like to join us let me know. Anyone elso that would like to ride with us is welcome.
  10. Hey nybryan, I am just down road from you in Rockland County and like you I came off an ST1300. I would like to hear more about your MRA Vario screen, I am trying to get a little more wind protection and don't want to shell out money for different kinds of winshields, i would like to get it right the first time. So far the Givi and the ZG ST are in the mix along with the MRA Vario. Also considering a Laminar lip if the need be. I was riding up by you yesterday RT82, RT44, CR3, RT22 RT9, RT301,and was having a blast, some great roads, but as soon as I cleaned my face shield off a half mile down the road I would get zapped with more bugs. I know I can't stop the bug infestation, but I would like to clean up some of the wind from hitting me in the upper chest just under the chin. Where do you feel the wind hitting you with the MRA? Thx
  11. I just put PR2's on two weeks ago 42 front 42 rear
  12. Can anyone point me in the direction to purchase a new one, or if they have a used one they want to part with that would work also. Thx.

With that being said, and I do agree, can a Laminar lip be added to a Givi for a little more deflection.

    Windshields

Yes my height might help. I'm 6'0" tall.

How high would you say the GIVI deflect the wind. I'm looking to get it over the top of the helmet.

I have been looking at aftermarket winshields for my Bird, Zero Gravity, MRA Vario, and Givi. I would like to know which one offers the most wind protection of the bunch, for the long trips. ZG has the double bubble and the ST version, is there much difference in them? Is one that much better than the other? Does the MRA Vario with adjustable lip give more or better protection. How does Givi measure against the ZG & Vario? Thx.
  17. I'm a new bird owner and I just picked up an 01 with LSL bars on Sat. I have nothing to compare them to but can say they are very comfortable and vibration free. The question I have after taking my first 200 mile ride today is can someone show me the difference between the Buell pegs and Daves lowering kit. I know it will take some time for my legs to adjust, but wow I was in pain after 100 miles. I am 6'0 215 lbs. I came off an ST1300. Thx. Tom Sorry for the hijack.
