  1. My fan doesn't come on until 219 f. For a long time, I thought it was broken. Sitting in the garage idling, the temp will soar. The water pump doesn't move much water until the revs are over 4,000. When the temp goes up, just take it to 4K, and the temp will go back down.
  2. That's funny. I saw "Dave" and assumed.....well, you know. I'm thinking, I didn't know Dave still had a Honda ST, nice bike though. 8400 miles? Can't be Dave's. That is a nice bike though. I wish I had room for one more.
  3. +1 on the Honda. We use the crap out of 3000si's at work and they are QUIET, reliable, and start with the turn of the key. About 12 hours on a fillup. Kinda heavy to pick up, but if I were buying a generator, it would be that one.
  4. Too bad the owner is the most hated man in Washington, and for good reason.
  5. Holy crap! I thought my '01 has low miles (2900) Red is the only color.
  6. Well.....................?
  7. Same year as mine. It would break my heart to sell mine for $2500. Looks like you changed the handguards, and relocated the license plate. Other than that, stock?
  8. So..............................what was it?
  9. I received the Bose sound dock as a gift a while back. It retails for $299. Although it's nice, the sound isn't that good.
  10. "That's a mighty big word for a 13 yr. old."
  11. Sure, don't you know the Harley crowd wears a $500 jacket and an ashtray on their heads, while the sportbike crowd wears a $500 ricky racer helmet and a t-shirt and shorts. You know I'm right. :icon_thumbsup: :icon_thumbsup: to New Enough. I've never been disappointed.
  12. Aren't we all, brother, aren't we all. '95 was a good year. As head(s) go.
  13. I have heard of CD's bending Heli's but never saw any. Since the Heli's have a bend upward, I wonder how they would do as an attachment point for soft hooks. Too far in? Maybe some of those soft covers for the straps. Adding length to the bars (throttlemiesters) will dramatically increase the leverage at the weld. I'm curious, what bent? The handlebar part or the curved part?
  14. Just like mine. Best bang for the buck there is. (Unless you want to be a motocross star.)

For 5 large? Used Honda Shadow 1100?
  16. Weird electrical gremlins can be caused by grounding issues. I'd look there, then ????????????
  17. I've never seen them. It looks like it just jams the wires together. If it has some dielectric grease inside it might be okay, but I'd worry about corrosion. I'd stay with solder and heat shrink.
  18. My red 01 is craving the smuggler Corbin. If he's interested, let me know. I wouldn't even have to paint it.
  19. I would think the "silver" is just a tinned copper wire. It helps with corrosion resistance. No aluminum wire can be found today. Solder away.
  20. I posted that a long while back, but it wasn't my original idea. (I wish it was) It worked so well, everyone should try it. You just float the grips on and off.
  21. It's worse than that. When you start a diet, your body says, "A famine is here, I need to slow down metabolism and conserve fat." So it's even harder. Then when you reach your goal and eat normal food, you gain weight like a bear before hibernation. Choices. How bad do you want it? Right now I'm back to Nutrisystem. Since I travel a lot it's easy to take the packaged meals with me. And they are really good. The problem is, I've been down this road before and it worked then failed. I don't know what the answer is. Fat people are cursed. Wait till skinny people give you advice. "I lost ten pounds by just using Nutrisweet instead of sugar in my coffee." Great, if that worked for me I'd be skinny too. Exercise is a big help.
  22. Well, they don't work for one thing. ETA: The house I'm in has a small one and it produces about 7 or 8 kw/ on a good day. Bun Is that 7-8 k/w of 110v. ac? Or does it use some sort of an inverter. Or does it simply offset use from the meter? That may be the way to go, since the wind is fickle. I know they "work" technically, but are not practical. They need to find a way to store the power for when the wind dies down. I have seen the ones on boats in the Virgin Islands where the wind is blowing 15-20 all the time, and they are used to charge batteries. I haven't heard of running refrigeration and certainly not A/C. Every time I fly over the giant wind farms in the west, most if not all are standing still. You would think they would be humming.
  23. Sweet! I remember when Miguel Duhamel rode the Smokin' Joes Honda, before cigarette advertising was deemed undesirable.
