  1. I put the bar end screw back in the internal damper without the weight of course, I did use some WD-40 in the clip-on tube prior to the next step, then I attached a vise-grip to the screw on the end then placed the vise grip flat on a stair going upstairs on the outside of the step with the clip-on end hanging downard, then had my kid stand on the vise grip handle while I began to hang on the handlebar...about 3 seconds later the dampener and the clip-on separated leaving me holding the clip-on and my kid still standing on the vise grip with the dampener and bar end screw.... now granted I was replacing the bar ends as well so I was not concerned with screwing up the O.E. bar end screws so they gave their lives for my Throttlemeisters...I don't have a bench vise but I might have gone that way and just yanked it out if I did...
  2. +1 I'd have no idea on a price, I hope you do get close to what you have put into it.
  3. Yep I missed that one too, no excuse just blindness.... :icon_doh: It's all great entertainment though, hats off to the creator.
  4. Ding Ding Ding Note to Self: Must improve obfuscation. So your either a mod or you started thinking about this last January. WELL!!!! I have an excuse.....I missed out the first time around..... http://www.cbr1100xx.org/forums/index.php?showtopic=51015
  5. Only 1 is for sale? http://cleveland.craigslist.org/mcy/1072390100.html http://cleveland.craigslist.org/mcy/1073690909.html
  6. :icon_lmao: I'm not wearing hockey pads.....
  7. Issues? I have no issue that Batman rides an XX. :icon_thumbsup:
  8. Just an FYI...Puniser's ride Busa's and ZX-14's....... :icon_slap:
  9. Well that breaks it for me...I'm out. :icon_snooty:
  10. Same here on my 00, the key was the rpms anything over 5K would bring the mileage down from there. I do think the 99 and up bikes have a slightly larger tank I didn't think it was that much bigger to make that big a difference...maybe your running rich Howie?
  11. I religiously held my starter button in whilst turning the key (in neutral of course) to avoid the extra firing cycle of the HID and mine just blew out after roughly 3 years.....whatever you are doing seems to be working so I wouldn't change anything....
  12. I'll take one of everything and a glazed doughnut.... To go.
  13. Easiest way I have found is to take them into Cycle Gear and have them put them on....after all that's where I bought them in the first place... Oh yeah and don't let them con you into paying 2$ for each tire for a "disposal fee" ....I take them down to the ocean and toss them in...the fish need a place to live....
  14. Something more has to be wrong, I'm still on my oem battery @65k and now 9yrs laters..... I know I should just replace it but now I'm to the point where I want to see how far I can go...kind of like the Seinfeld episode where Kramer and the car salesman go well past the "E" mark...
  15. Thanks for the offer Tim, I think this might be what I need: http://www.cms-motorcycle-parts.com/stainl...-bolts-69-p.asp Stainless shouldn't rust right???
  16. So I install that real nice Galfer brake and clutch line kit for the XX about a year ago but now I notice the friggin banjo bolts are starting to get that rusty finish to them... I know I'm not super anal about most things but I can't live with rust anymore now that I live in So Kali. Anyone have a source for a suitable replacement for the banjo bolts?? All I need is some that will stay nice and shiny like the stainless fitting's they are attached to...
  17. I should have clarified that I meant the clutch side and not the brakes (as in the O.P.'s topic) , the clutch always got pretty dark colored (like coca cola) probably due to being exposed to the heat of the engine in the slave cylinder. The 5.1 though has held up rather well and is just as easy to work with and is compatible with dot 4.0. Seemed to be harder to find when I went looking for it but Cycle Gear here carries regularly.
  18. I agree, I put those in about 10K ago as they were given to me from a former owner, at that point I had over 50K on the set that came with my Bird, swapped them out because I had them but saw no ill effects from the plugs and they looked great (the old ones) when I threw them out.
  19. I'm with you, before I went to 5.1 I would have to flush/refill around every 6 months. I think I put my Galfer lines on about 7-8 months ago and just looked at the fluid today and it looks fine, I think I may make it an annual thing now. :icon_clap:
  20. http://arizonamoto.com/Merchant2/merchant....Code=PilotRoad2 131.95 Front 165.95 Rear 297.90 Total Free shipping when buying two or more...not as good a price as Johns w/group buy but when those deals hit you gotta jump on them...
  21. Cops.... Helmet sizes when your head swells with pride of ownership... Tylenol, Advil, and aspirin for the sore muscles in your face from grinning too much while riding it...heck just from looking at it... There might not be a bike out there built more stout than a XX, 8 years going on 9 and 65K later all I have any trouble with mine is keeping effing roofer's nails out of my tires.... Congrats and good luck.
  22. Back up and running now. That was fast, Thanks again. :icon_clap:
  23. I thought she was still around here? Me I used to be a member but I couldn't keep up with paying the dues so my acct. got suspended, luckily I came across some cash in my couch cushions and long story short here I am.
