  1. Thanks I will see if Rich ordered the pads yet and see if he can get the RJL pads.
  2. Gotcha covered, Stef. Sweet thanks how much ya want for it??? Does it come with that sexy sneaker and shower base?
  3. That is a huge +1 Hell my 97 has 62,000+ miles on it and not a mins problems. I would not hesitate to take it cross country or put it on the track. The only reason in my eyes for a new bike would be a major engine failure or wreck. Some people just like to have new and shiny which is nice if you can afford it by all mean go for it. In this economy most people can't . I have not owned a new vehicle for myself ever . My wife had always gotten the new car. I always have a used set of wheels. Hell my Chevy Silverado had almost 200k on it and I love that fuckin truck. Honda will come back once the economy turns around if it ever does. Until then they will just lay low and save their money . Can't blame them really. :icon_think:
  4. What happened to your old one? Stainless crack/break? Just weld it back together if you still have all the pieces.....
  5. How about a heavy duty muffler clamp? That might get ya by for a while. I don't have any of the exhaust hangers you are in need of though. Sorry.
  6. That would be about the worst possible combination for a street driven bike - where you need good and instant braking power immediately when a hard brake or full stop is needed. EBC HH pads are not effective when cold and CF rotors needs to be well heated before they are better than stock rotors. Well, it is for his track bike, not his road bike, so that should be ok then? And I find that the EBC HH pads on my road XX are quite good. I tend to brake very little, so they are nearly always cold, but I never have any issues braking as hard as I need to, even with the shorty levers. Which pads do you think are better for road use? If there are some that are significantly better than the EBC HH ones, I WANT! EBC HH pads are fine for track usage. The Brembo red pads will not make you disappointed on a road bike, guaranteed. Thanks for the info. I will keep that in mind cause I am not real happy with my Driven sintered brake pads I have on the Bird currently. They seem to need a good warm up before they want to grab with any force. Don't get me wrong they stop the bike but I have to squeeze much harder to stop when they are cold. If I get them warm they are not too bad. I think the stockers were better. So this winter I may look for a new set for the Bird.
  7. Why do you think the bike is all stock... I am lucky to have a stock trackbike to throw around on the track at all. I can see how it can get out of hand fast this hobby ain't cheap. Then again nothing fun in life is cheap.
  8. Go to the Home Depot or Lowes and get a 5-6" hose clamp that should hold it. A picture is worth a thousand words... That would sure help to know exactly what you are looking to do.
  9. That would be about the worst possible combination for a street driven bike - where you need good and instant braking power immediately when a hard brake or full stop is needed. EBC HH pads are not effective when cold and CF rotors needs to be well heated before they are better than stock rotors. They would be for my track only f4. I am on a tight budget though so rotors will have to wait . I am running totally stock right now and didn't seem to have any problems hauling her down from a buck 45 down the start straight and making the passes on the inside line last week. I think any performance pad will be an improvement. I only use 1 finger on the front brake anyway. Before I get new rotors I need to change the exhaust cause that stock can kept hitting the ground in the turns. Scared the piss out of me the first time it happened but then I just got used to it. So if anyone would like a slightly scratched stock can for a 2000 f4 I have one cheap. But I am looking to replace it with something. Coffee can maybe or a paper towel roll.... Doesn't need to be pretty just functional. John thanks for the search results. I already ordered a set from Hobi though and will pick them up at Wixx...
  10. Try again! Honda CBR600F4 RJL 99-00 * VD-166RJL Honda CBR600F4 RJL 01-06 * VD-166/2RJL Honda CBR600F4 SRJL 99-00 * VD-166SRJL Honda CBR600F4 SRJL 01-06 * VD-166/2SRJL Well paint me pink and call me Sally... You gots some mad search skills there John. I googled them and the place that came up started with the 01 f4i .
  11. No Vesrah pads for the f4.
  12. I will have to look into them thanks.
  13. Joe what are these RJL pads you speak of???
  14. I am in the market for new front brake pads for my F4 (track bike) As the title states what are your recommendations? I got an email with kevlar pads on sale and also the EBC HH pad also on sale which do you think are better?
  15. I agree with Joe on this one pull the power commander and see if that fixes it. Every time you cycle the ignition switch it will reset the power commander. Could be something in that failing.
  16. I buy all my gear from them. Except.......... well the leathers I bought from Shotsfired..... But I got a great price on them...
  17. Make it fun !!!!! That makes it easy to get Into. I love to run now but get shin splints very easily so I am starting to ride my bicycle that is... and walking mote coupled with my workouts with my buddy doing the power lifting I am now holding about 188-189 and feeling great and looking better. Just remember if it Is fun u won't do it.
  18. Did you call my new bike "pretty." Joe - I no longer want it..... And Dave, I feel confident I can handle Warp's driveway now.... I no longer am carrying around the (emotional) baggage I had back then. And yes, I know she was in the truck with you guys... Yes I did..... She is sexy how is that??? Looks like it could be fun to ride. Enjoy. Congrats to the both of you.
  19. I just saw this bike yesterday and it is a very pretty bike. If Erica and I had our gear we would have been riding that around instead of the car up in the mountains. Great bike!!!!!
  20. Congrats Rick to both of you. I have been heavily exercising since early May and I feel netters now than ever. I started running and now for fun I am doing strongman training with some friends that are training for competition. I have lost almost 7 lbs and gains muscle. I am not trying to loose a bunch of weight but just trying to get my body back to what I looked like before I got married 18 ago. Erica told me just last night that she can see the difference so it must be working. Best if luck to both of you. Good quality time spent together for you 2.
  21. I know how you feel about getting caught up in fixing things. I put a new head gasket on my lawnmower a few years back and got all done fires it up and ran it for about 30 secs before I looked at the oil drain plug sitting on the running board. DOH!!!! I shut it down and filled with oil and she ran for 2 more years before throwing a rod out the side of the 15 year old motor. I just laughed and pushed it to the shed... As for your electrical gremlins I would go over all the connectors while your in there check for corrosion and clean and apply dielectric grease to all. By the sounds of it though I think your on the right track with the loose connection causing the flickering. Good luck.
  22. I have the DID ZVM2 and it is approaching 30k I would have to.check my records to make sure but it is not showing any signs of the end yet. I do lube it every 250-300 miles with my own blend of 80-90 and Lucas oil treatment. So far it seems to be working. I also clean it with diesel fuel from time to time.
  23. Let me know when you get back and maybe we will get together for a ride or even just lunch or something. Try to come the weekend of the 22 and at least handout with us.
  24. Say it ain't so Jay .... What happen the beer making get outta hand on ya.... Drinking more then you can make???? Lol Are you ride the asc this yr? If so look for Erica she is the endpoint manager.... I will be out on the trail till the .last bike crosses the finishline. Hope all is well. Good luck with the sale.
  25. Mike if you have an Inline volt meter that reads voltage output on a daily basis and reads good volts then if the battery goes dead you kinda know it is not the charging system. Like Hank said just unplug the R/R and test it there. Stop making such a project out of this simple repair!!!! Just fix the Fucking thing already. Wtf no wonder you don't pick up on when women flirt with you your very thick in the head!!! This can't get any simpler!!!! Then again it sounds like you are just tring to talk yourself into a new bike.
