  1. Page 1-6 in the service manual says 50psi and my stock '02 FPR measures 50psi. My service manual is for the 99-2000 and has the 43 psi pressure as listed about. The "apparently" for the later years came from trying to find other posts that had this info. So now that we have a service manual reference for the later years, the new percentage (at idle) is 19% lower for the TC version used on later (2001-) Birds. I had another exchange with them today about their testing a 50 psi version of the FPR, that makes more sense now! They will have results in two weeks. Do you want my 2003 stock one? I'll send it to you. It was working fine when I took it out 3 weeks ago. Hell, if it was not raining I could drop it off tonight. Generous offer, thanks! I have a new one (stock along with plugs and air filter) coming tomorrow or Thurs. I am in NYC both days so I guess Friday is my first riding opportunity. Yes, this rain would be a bummer if I had a running BB
  2. As you know - my stock one is coming your way as soon as I get a replacement
  3. Mine is an '03 and there was nothing wrong with the stock FPR but it runs better with the Turbo City one. For your bike, the TC FPR was a real change - the pressure was changed 5 psi higher (an almost 14% increase). Seems like quite a few others have been happy with the change to this version also. My only point is that for 99-00 owners, there is a 1 psi drop in the pressure using this regulator, which is a 2% change.
  4. I have been corresponding with Turbo City on this, since my '99 has what appears to be a failing FPR. The TC version is set to 42 psi. The stock pressure for the 99-00 Bird is 43 psi. Later years apparently used 36 psi regulators. What does all this mean? Well, for me it means that I should probably just get another stock regulator instead of the expensive version.
  5. one of them yes, in that angle it will pull a vacuum as the gas goes by. I have put my pair system back and connected to the valve cover to pull a vacuum on my crankcase. I works and good, and with my air-box sealed ram-air really does work good. I recommend it. highly!!! So did you eliminate the PAIR valve and just Tee the hoses to the crankcase breather?
  6. Mike, please send me a P&P for my '99. Thanks! I sent you a PM.
  7. Rough casting! Is that the infamous PAIR outlet (where air comes into the exhaust stream) on one of the exhaust valves?
  8. Whiner. Mine are awesome.........now. It took a little work but not that the issues have been sorted out, they are great. I'm glad you got yours sorted out. I just didn't have the patience or the inclination to fuck around with Matsu and his bullshit. I'm not sure that Josh would agree that the Caro's are "awesome" since his rear wheel failed while he was riding, but WTF do I know. Mine seem to be holding up, but they do not see much use in adverse conditions. It was a _big_ improvement when I installed them. Like to know more about the failure.
  9. Much enjoyed! Can't wait to see how it runs.
  10. I will look into that if the FPR does not do the trick, thanks. This bike is super low miles (5K) and always garaged, no rain, etc.
  11. yes, might as well go ahead and start it and see, hold your finger over the hose to stop the vacumn leak, and watch for fuel. If that is not it, your going to have to see what the plugs look like. if I remember corectly 2 and 3 are the ones that foul due to the FPR.. May have got to it early and not leaking that much yet. So the test with it running showed no leaking, and the motor ran fine until I reconnected it - then it started to act up! So I went ahead and bought the mucho-expensive FPR from Turbo City as that seems to have benefits anyway. I would think that it is going to fail by what you are saying, just not bad yet. Good point though as the vacuum moves the slide to open the fuel back to the tank and would open a cut in the diaphragm that might still be holding due to the valve being closed. I had kept my old one to dissect and have for viewing operation, but, was needed by someone. Never got to do a cutup. If some one wants to send me the old one I will and make a post of it. PM me your address and I will send you my replaced FPR (if this fixes the problem!).

  13. I just lifted and supported the tank, then removed the vacumn line from the FPR. No fuel dripped out. I then turned the ignition on but did not start the bike - still no fuel drips. Did I do the test properly?
  14. fpr they do go out, because of alcohol. Thanks! I saw your response on the other rough running thread - appreciate it. If my FPR fails the test, do you recommend this version from turbo city to replace it? http://www.turbocity.com/product_info.php?...products_id=572 EDIT: I see that you have recommended this part already
  15. These symptoms sound a lot like how my 99 started running today... To test the FPR, you remove the vac line and then what?
  16. I never thought I would be writing a post like this for my Honda, but here it is. Today I tried to go for a ride on my '99 (stock powertrain except some Leo Vinci slip ons) and it was not running well. It would not rev freely from idle before starting out, and when I tried to get under way it ran with poor power and very flat performance - with a huge stumble off idle. I could hold the throttle open around 10% and it would alternate between running like cr@p and then surging forward as if it was running properly. Ughh. FI light was never on. What are the common possibilities here? TPS, CPS? I should also mention that I disconnected the battery (new in '06) and gave it a few minutes just in case this was a random computer glitch. It did not help.
  17. http://philadelphia.craigslist.org/mcy/921339332.html No affiliation, just saw it on Cragslist and thought someone might want to take a look.
  18. If you do sell separately I would be interested.
  19. I'll take it if the pics look good. Please post 'em! Consider it sold, PM sent
  20. If Int'l shipping is not an option I will take them (from PA, USA)
