  1. Bike made it safely back to Colorado! ... exciting ride to say the least! Thanks, Chuck, for the smooth transaction -- I appreciate the hospitality, and meeting your two "protectors". -don-
  2. The countdown is on!!! Will be flying out in t-minus five hours ... landing in Houston later tonight. This time tomorrow, I'll be heading n.west through Texas, on in to Oklahoma, and back here to CO! Can't wait!!!
  3. Nope ... not that guy -- my "other" bikes all support my off-road dirt racing. To answer the questions regarding my other three birds: 1) First bird = '00 (bought this one new out in NM) -- had my first speeding ticket w/in an hour ("But officer, I was told I needed to break her in!") Anyway, sold when my second son was born, and I was limited on amount of time I could spend riding (very sad day). 2) Second bird = another '00 (was Jerry's [TheMotoBeagle] bird -- bought it several months before the tragedy) -- if you're not sure what I'm talking about, do a search on "TheMotoBeagle". Loved that bike (had the same MIG pipes as this one) -- had to sell it following a divorce (another sad day). 3) Third bird = '99 -- bought it out here in CO. Held on to it until a former g/friend of mine convinced me to get a Concours so we could ride two-up more comfortably (very sad day -- selling the bird, not ridding myself of the/gfriend). [Note: sold the Concours when I became unemployed unexpectedly -- was actually a fun ride, but NOT a "bird] This bird will remain with me for years/miles to come -- can't wait!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  4. That "pending sale" is ME!!! Hate to admit this, but this will be my 4th "bird". Believe me, this is a done deal -- flying out next Wednesday night ... a week from right now I'll be riding her back to her new Colorado home at roughly 6800 feet above sea level!!! Thanks "Ogre" for all the assistance thus far -- am looking forward to meeting you!! Don
  5. Okay, so I finally sold my 99 bird; however, the Ventura pack system ended up not being part of the sale. If anyone's intersted in this great pack system, make me an offer in the next few days -- otherwise I'll post it on eBay. Just fyi, I believe I paid around $275 (dealer's cost) for this -- it's been used twice, and is in perfect condition. Here's a couple links to check out: Ventura's site: http://www.ventura-bike.com/products/bikepacksystem.aspx A picture of the pack system on my bike: http://home.comcast.net/~4sterclan/items/a.jpg Regards from Colorado! Don
  6. I've had a few members ask me for the Ventura system -- I prefer to keep it a "package deal"; however, if the future buyer doesn't want, I'll be happy to part it out. I also have a brand new ThrottleMeister (still in the box -- "standard" bar ends) I'm willing to sell. As for your plate, very cool. Honestly, once I sell my "bird", I will realistically not have any need to be a member of this forum -- perhaps you can ask the "powers that be" if you can take over my moniker.
  7. I've got a brand new set (still in the box shipped from ThrottleMeister) ... was going to install on my '99 bird, and then decided to sell her. The set I have is the "standard" (versus "heavy"). I paid $120 plus shipping -- make it worth my while and they're yours!
  8. Fellas, Up for sale is my '99 bird. She's got just over 30k miles, and is in absolute pristine condition -- original paint/plastics/seat. Her valves were checked at 26k miles (I purchased her at 26.8k miles -- I'm the third owner), and were in perfect spec. As soon as I bought her, I immediately flushed/replaced ALL fluids, replaced both front/rear sprockets (OEM gearing), replaced the chain (D.I.D.), and replaced the OEM lenses with those from Clear Alternative. Around 1.5K miles ago, I replaced the front/rear tires with Dunlop Qualifiers. This XX also has HeliBar risers, as well as Staintune pipes (there is no Power Commander on her, but she runs/sounds great -- my guess is that she was Dyno'd after the original owner had the after-market pipes installed). I'm also including a Cortech magnetic tank bag, as well as a Ventura pack system -- includes all black mounting brackets/racks, along with two of Ventura's packs (which zip together -- see pictures). I'm open to selling these separately, but would prefer they go as a "package deal". Bike is located in the greater Colorado Springs area. As for price, I'm asking $3,900 -- make me a fair offer, and I'll consider. Don
  9. Hey Russ, I live in Colorado Springs, and am about to put my '99 up for sale, so if you're still interested (and CO's not too far for you), feel free to contact me at 719-210-5173. I'll be posting the "official" for sale ad here on this site sometime w/in the next week or so. In a nutshell, here's the details on my "bird" (and she's the third one I've owned, so I can speak from experience that you won't be disappointed): Never been dropped/wrecked (well maintained -- pristine condition), stock paint/graphics, 39k miles, new front/rear (less than 700 miles -- I believe they are Dunlop, but I'm at work right now, and can't be exact), heli-bar risers, heated grips, Staintune pipes, Clear Alternative lenses (front/rear), and ThrottleMeister cruise control. I'm also including a tank bag, as well as a Ventura pack system with her, which includes all black mounting brackets, along with two of Ventura's packs (which zip together). When I post my pics of her in my for sale ad, I'll make sure to add one of her "fully configured" for long-distance riding. Don
  10. I'll take the OEM windscreen if it's still available (PM sent).
  11. Sent you a PM regarding the OEM windshield.
