  1. Congrats on getting it back together. Peggy and I are coaching at Barber this weekend. This will be our 7th and 8th track day this season alredy......6 of which have been at Barber. I love that place.
  2. Since this thread is already in existence, I just wanted to say that I'm not pissed about it or anything, but it does help to keep threads in the proper section and not get them all mixed up. When I'm going through a For Sale or Wanted thread, I really don't need to be sifting through other stuff in there while I'm looking for whatever I'm looking for. So John........you'd look really good on my Motard that's for Sale...........in the For Sale section of course!
  3. If they are then they must be free, as I didn't see a price anywhere ........
  4. You know, I could have sworn that this is the FOR SALE/WANTED section of the forum!! This should be in some other section besides here
  5. 2009 Aprilia Dorsoduro 750, This bike has been adult ridden on the street only and NEVER been down. I had Fast Bike Industries professionally install Andreani fork cartridges and set it up for me. I have also installed a Fat Duc 02 manipulator to smooth out the bike totally. One of the other revisions that I did was to have Dual Sport Touring rework the seat to make it MUCH more comfortable for longer rides, including a completely new seat cover with a gel foam inside. The bike currently has Michelin Power Pure tires on it and they are at approx. 50 to 60%. Another revision was a CAT eliminator (Leo Vince brand) which also makes the bike run cooler. I installed a set of R&G frame sliders right after I bought the bike and they are perfect. This bike features three different maps for whatever type of riding you wish to do......Rain mode, Touring mode, and Sport mode. These different modes change the fueling characteristics of the bike for what type of riding you are doing. I have used nothing but Mobil 1 oil and HiFlo brand oil filters on it. There is absolutely NOTHING wrong with this bike and it is absolutely ready to ride and is an extremely fun, torquey machine that will make you grin from ear to ear. I presently have the shifter set up for GP style shifting, but if you prefer the standard shift pattern, it can be switched back in about 5 minutes. The reason that I did this is NOT because I raced it or put it on the track. The reason behind the GP shift pattern setup is because my other track bikes are setup for GP shift and I wanted to keep them the same. These bikes handle extremely well and are not something that you will see everyday. I am constantly getting asked about it when I'm out riding and even the Harley guys think that it's pretty cool. My advertised price is at approx. $650 BELOW NADA suggested retail, and that price ($7655) doesn't even reflect the mods that have been done which amounted to over $1400 new! This will provide someone who enjoys doing the twisties, a really great bike. Motorcycle is located in the Knoxville, TN area and is available for viewing. I have the owner's manual, a maintenance disc on C.D. and an extra oil filter, as well as the rear passenger pegs/bracket. I do not normally allow test rides of any motorcycle that I am trying to sell, but I will decide on that based on talking to you and other factors. Please understand that if the bike is test ridden and you lay it down or crash it, not only are you going to possibly get hurt, there is most likely going to be damage done to the bike and will cost $$$$. $6900.00 865-304-0254
  6. I've got a set of HIDs that I bought for the headlights on my car by mistake, I wanted the 55W. These were installed on my car last weekend to see if they would suffice and they are OK, but I think I still want the 55 watt size. These would be perfect for a set of fog lights that use the H3 bulbs. Included are the 35 watt ballasts (two of them) and two of the H3 style HID bulbs. I'm keeping my wiring harness/relay, since it is already installed in the car. Realistically, with a 35 watt setup like this, you really wouldn't need a relay/harness, as they just don't pull that much current. I'll take $100 including shipping in the 48 states. Here is a link to the place where I bought them. http://retro-solutions.net/product-info.ph...KIT-pid663.html BTW, you can buy a universal wiring harness there is you really think you need one
  7. I have to say, it is certainly a lot of fun. I've added a "FatDuc" which is basically a resistor circuit that is inline with the O2 sensor and the bike pretty much runs flawlessly. I've got the front forks off of it right now and am going to Asheville, NC area next Friday to have some cartridges put in them. The front suspension is not bad from the factory, but I guess I'm spoiled a bit from riding my track bike with Ohlins valving and stuff in the front. I made 6 passes through Deals Gap yesterday afternoon and can certainly see where a little better front suspension would add to the confidence factor. I got the seat redone not long after I bought it and it too is now pretty good for some 300 mile days, whereas before, it was a struggle to put 75 miles on it without stopping.
  8. How about this one John.......... http://www.cbr1100xx.org/forums/index.php?...76826&st=20
  9. Seems like I read some place that if you require more than 7 segments (the 1/4 oz size ones) that you need to break the bead and rotate the tire on the rim to a different location and try again. Another note of interest is that the valve stem area is NOT always the heavy spot on a wheel. I've got a NoMar tire changer and a Marc Parnes Balancer and I've come across several wheels that the heavy spot of the wheel is NOT at the valve stem. I thin that in all of the tires that I've mounted and balanced over the last 4 or 5 years, I've only had one wheel/tire combo that required 6 of the 1/4 oz segments.

    Oil Q

Dave.......for what it's worth, I've been using Mobil 1 15W-50 in all my bikes, both track and street plus the ST1300 and the XX prior to them. Never a bit of trouble from any of them. I don't know about Walmart where you live, but in this area, you can buy a 5 qt. jug of the Mobil 1 15W-50 for $24.99 a jug.......$5/quart
  11. Thank you! I've been talking to a fellow in Arkansas that says that he is going to buy the bike, but needs until the end of this month to finish getting his funds together..........so I'm keeping my fingers crossed that this doesn't fall through.
  12. How about a bump to the top and a price reduction to.............$4200. C'mon, it's worth that......it's been ridden by a little old lady!
  13. Thanks! I bought an Aprilia Dorsoduro 750 Motard and that is what I'm going to be riding. I was going to sell my '07 600RR and I started thinking that maybe she would be better off on the '07 than her '03. The '07 is lighter weight, more power, and she can almost flat foot the '07 because it's that much narrower at the back of the tank than her '03........same seat height for both.
  14. I am selling my wife's '03 600RR, as she is now riding my '07 600RR. She purchased this bike in October, 2007, with 57xx miles on it and she is the second owner of this bike. The bike is now approx 9 years old and it has 16,714 miles on it, which works out to less than 2000 miles a year. The bike is mechanically sound and runs very well with absolutely NO issues. All maint. that has been done to the bike has been done by me, which is all the usual minor stuff.....oil and filter, coolant, tires, lubing the chain, etc. This bike has had nothing but Mobil 1 15W-50 in it since she bought it, and the previous owner told me that he ran the Honda Syn oil in it. I've always used the Honda filters too. The bike presently has Engine Ice coolant in it, which is good down to -26 degrees. There are some minor paint flaws and chips, as you would expect from a 9 year old bike. It was dropped one time since she owned it, and I cannot say whether or not it was dropped by the previous owner. There is nothing cracked or broken on the body work and in fact, when she dropped it, she was sitting still and her foot slid out from under her on some gravel. The bike actually dropped on her and didn't suffer any damage. The bike also fell over one time while at Nashville Super Speedway, during a track day. The damage amounted to a broken right front turn signal and a slightly bent right front rotor. The turn signal was replaced and the brake rotor was professionally straightened. This happened in 2008 and she has been riding the bike ever since then with absolutely NO issues. This bike comes with a clean and clear Tennessee title. Here is a list of the following items that are on this bike. 1. Arata Full Exhaust system 2. DynoJet Power Commander III 3. Puig Dark Smoke Windscreen 4. H.I.D. Headlight for the low beam 5. O.E.S. brand frame sliders 6. Swing arm spools...........left side spool mount weld is partially broken. 7. Short Stalk Rear Turn signals 8. Progrip Tank Pad 9. Vista Cruise Throttle Lock 10. Safety Wired at Oil fill, drain, filter, rear axle and front wheel pinch bolts 11. Michelin Pilot Powers front and rear with at least 50% tread left. This bike has been kept in a garage and has obviously been well taken care of. The NADA price guide for this bike, with an aftermarket exhaust shows a value of $4569. Considering the low mileage and all of the extras that are on this bike, she would like to get $4500 for it. You may contact me via PM on this forum if you are interested in it and we can exchange phone numbers and talk if you like. We live in the Maryville, TN area and you are welcome to come see the bike in person if that would be convenient for you. There will be ABSOLUTELY no test rides without money in hand. I'm not trying to act like a **** about this, but if someone test rides it and crashes it, I'm not going to be the one to be out the money for repairs.......I'm sure that you can see that makes sense. Here are some pictures of the bike, as well as the VIN number and the Odometer. If someone has a need for a special picture of something that is not shown, please PM me and I'll see what I can do NOTE: I forgot to put the date that the pictures were taken, on my sign. Every picture was taken on............8/14/2012 So without further delay, here are the pictures...............
  15. I've used the Vesrah RJL's on my track bike now for the past two years and I am very happy with them. Jcrich is the one that told me about them and I'm 100% happy with them.

    HID

RedEye wrote: There is no such thing as a HID that you can plug into your stock halogen bulb socket. HID requires a ballast and and an ignitor and if you bought something that doesn't have that, you ain't got true HID's. The older style HID's had a separate ballast and ignitor; some of the new one combine the ballast and the ignitor in one "can". The most light available is in the 3900 Kelvin range and most manufacturers make a 4300K bulb/set. The higher the Kelvin number, the bluer the light is going to be. Lots of folks go for the higher Kelvin number for the bling factor, when in actuality, the lower numbers (4300, 5000K) will give you more useable light. I put a set of 55W 4300K H13's in my new truck about a year and a half ago and the only way it could be better is if I decide to take the headlight housing apart and an install projectors in there.
  17. Philip, another thing that you can try is if you have a propane torch, heat the axle nut with it, getting it to expand slightly. The trick is to be ready with the proper tools (socket/ratchet wrench) and ready to try and break it loose as soon as you heat the nut and set the torch down. If you try this, make sure that you try and keep the flame pointed directly at the axle nut (all the way around it if possible) and keep as much heat off of the axle bolt. Hope this helps.
  18. Bike has been SOLD! Incidently, no one on this forum bought it, but it is now residing in Florida and will most likely show up at Jennings on occasion.

    Tire report...

I have tried the PR2's on my ST1300 and the most that I can get out of a rear is @5000 miles. Having said that, the ST gets ridden two up about 98% of the time that it is on the road. Peggy and I together are about 315 to 320 plus riding gear. Then there is a Honda top box that usually has a small cooler, purse, etc. in it. The side bags have a couple of rainsuits, misc., and an air compressor......so she is loaded up pretty good most of the time that it's on the road. Still, I was hoping for better than 5K out of the rear. After two attempts to get more mileage out of them, I have switched over to the Avon Storm 2 and am tracking the mileage on it. Pilot Road 2 up front will get me 7-7.5K before needed to be replaced. Oh, the PR2 on the front and the Avon Storm 2 on the rear, play together quite nicely and do not seem to lend any kind of handling issues.
  20. Joe, I've got a Samsung Omnia II that is a Verizon phone. I recently bought a HTC Thunderbolt and the Omnia is just sitting on the table collecting dust. Here is a link that tells a little about it. I'd take $50 including shipping it to you. Oh, BTW, it is not an Android..........it's a windows based phone. http://www.samsung.com/us/mobile/cell-phones/SCH-I920DAAVZW
