  1. I don't normally bet against a Jew, but no fucking way can you shed that much weight by Memorial Day, barring liposuction. I'm not wishing you harm or anything, but be careful, bud, keep hydrated.
  2. OK, so the price is dropping, so why? Is a newer better model coming out? I sooooo want one of these.
  3. Went to Smoky View NAPA today. Clestus soys we don't have a 12mm 3/8 hex socket. Biggest we got's a 10. I got a 10, I says. You got a 12mm plain hex wrench? No, biggest I got's a 10. I gots a 10, I says. Hey Vester, go out there and break one out of a kit, willya? Got me a 12mm 3/8 hex air wrench for 5 bucks. It worked. Sweet! Thanks, guys
  4. Thanks, guys. Now I can go to my local NAPA jobber and get me some more tools.
  5. That very top bolt on the triple tree....the manual just says "remove the steering stem nut cap" It has a hex socket in it, but I can't seem to get it off (I know, I said "get it off")

I've got a used stocker at home I believe....it will be tomorrow night before I can check on it, but it's yours for postage. I will send you a pic and let you decide shape it's in.
  7. I've got Chris's used HEL lines sitting in my shop waiting to be installed. I have to order some bushings for them before install. I will let you know, and you can see them in Marlinton. They will be the bright blue things on my bike. I just could not justify the new ones. I am po'
  8. Just got finished talking with John at CTR Suspension here in Knoxville. CTR is a Racetech Center and J travels around working for the AMA if I understand him correctly. He will be doing a complete rebuild of my forks with gold valves, springs, etc the middle of March. I figure $500 or so for a 10 year old bike works out to $50 a year. Maybe I will have a little more confidence in my cornering abilities, and maybe, just maybe I will stay within site of you guys' asses out west. Any suggestions on what else to do to front end while I am torn down?
  9. ...................NPG-R does not freeze or boil-over. In cold temperatures (down to -1OF°) NPG-R will not freeze and expand like conventional water-based antifreezes potentially cracking the engine block. In contrast NPG-R contracts into thick slurry - never becoming a solid. With a boiling point of 400°F at 7psi, NPG-R will never boil-over because it immediately condenses back to a liquid within the cylinder head coolant jacket, maintaining a liquid contact on all metal surfaces at all times. As with NPG........................................................ Looks like a 50 degree difference in specifications between you guys. I do ride in below freezing weather and have been down to 22 degrees. That still leaves me 32 degrees of safety. Man, -10F is COLD!!!!
  10. Used Motul from my oil changes. I have a ton of it. I save all my oil. When the fucking arabs and mexicans take over my land I am gonna dig a bunch of holes around the place and contaminate my well. Fuck 'em. That'll show 'em
  11. Tap the wire when it comes off the speed sensor, which sits right on top of the transmission. I am taking my tank off this evening and I will let you know which wire it is. I want to say it is the pink/green, but I am not certain.
  12. I just finished the installation of Evans NPG+R coolant in my 'bird. First off: there are ample threads covering pros of this stuff. I am sold on it. I do not think anyone on the board has had a negative experience with it. After talking to the guys at Evans, I stuck with the +R. He said it was still in testing to receive the "lifetime" imprimatur. He stood firm with the recommendation to use this product in motorcycles so I am not looking back. I unzipped the bike completely to do this and some other stuff. I used warchild's "Blowjob" method throughout, which made it a pretty nasty affair, so I took it outside. Drain fill with distilled water, crank up and run to fan cut on cool off and drain Fill with radiator flush and water, crank up and run to fan on plus 10 minutes cool off and drain Fill with distilled water, crank up and run to fan on cool off and drain Fill with prep fluid (probably some sort of hygroscopic fluid), crank up and run to fan on and drain Finally put in +R Fuck I hope it is lifetime The one problem I have had is I really can't see where the "low" and "high" marks are on the reservoir. Any suggestions?
  13. Cost me about $45 for the install... $35 for the coolant ('bird takes just less than a gallon), and I flushed with straight "peak" coolant... Mike I wish I had known I could do that.
  14. Have you considered the Evans non aqueous coolant? Check out my recent thread here in the garage. Several people use it, it's lifetime, and it is a better heat exchanger. No pressure in the system. But it DOES cost about $70 bucks for the install.
  15. I can send you one that is looking for a good home for shipping costs.... I'll get you the model later today (I do know it is bluetooth capable, has a card slot, etc....... AND/OR I have a chocolate and an envy that I could sell for a reasonable price, but they are just waaayyyyyy ttooooooo ggggaaayyyyyy (although I have the chocolate as mine right now, but may try the envy in the next few weeks..... daughter's castaways)

Vern has one, he loves it. I THINK it was the demo from the hoot last year. I have one of their breaker bars, it is very much nicer than the POS from Harbor Freight. I was thinking about buying the demo this year, but with Vern only 8 miles or so away, it would be in my best interest to support my local tire-changer!
  17. Furbird, are you going to buy it? If not, let me know. I will if you won't. It will take me until at least Tuesday to gather the scratch, but it is a good bike. Maybe not a steal with the salvage issues, but I found out this afternoon that D2 is tall enough to ride mine, so she would be a good excuse to get another.
  18. I got over 10K last summer on a pilot road rear. Doug has one on his that has about 11K on it now ('cause he's too fucking cheap/lazy/broke/pussywhooped/gay to get a new one)
  19. Actual post by Ron, no editing: what ne said, fucking "Northerners" tell them about it Oldgezzer. you are right they are racest. Ron XXXXXX what ne said, fucking "Northerners" tell them about it Oldgezzer. you are right they are racest. Ron XXXXXX (Man, I miss that guy)
  20. Got the wrong part last year. Cost me $29.99, will sell for $1.00 plus s/h at staples (UPS)
  21. Not to gp off on a tangent or anything, but about 35 years ago I was rummaging around in the rubble of my great-grandfather's shop in Indianola, MS and came across a little (2 ounce or so) tin of cotter keys. It gives me great pleasure now to reach into that oily little metal snatch and pull out the perfect sized instrument.
  22. +1 ????? Dude, no need to spend the bucks.... the battery has been made, prolly no one has an application for it, even for free. Keeping it will be good for the environment. Checking the water level is not hard to do, drop by & I will be happy to do it for you. PLUS you can buy a neat hygrometer, they come in many quality levels (good, better, best) and you can find them for any language (impress your friends!) PLUS.... think about the karma you would incur. The poor little battery just wants to do his job. What if everybody was chunked just because there was a better model, but they were doing the job satisfactorily?
