    520 chains

I was looking at the wife's TTR125, and it runs a 428 chain. I'll give it a shot if someone wants to help me with my insurance deductible
  4. Sorry John, I thought you had stopped carrying these  I know you get em from Jaws, but would rather refer people to a state side source. Now I know
  5. Yup, wrong. The only change was the front wheel changed in 99. Larger carrier (center hub) than the 96-98 Birds
  6. When you figure it out, give me a ring
  7. http://www.jaws-motorcycles.co.uk/bird2.htm Half way down.....John is good people
  8. It's just the Bird's way of saying, "Let's go already!"
  9. I have FI rotors (waves) on a FI wheel on my 97 Bird, with a 97 axle and spacers. Working fine for 10K miles now
  10. Steve, I tried that, took the valves and coffee can off, and left all the lines in place, just plugged. 2 of them went to the tank though....had to plug at the tank. Just wouldn't stay running. It idled fine, but hated when I blipped the throttle. I pieced it together one thing at a time, and it only liked it when everything was back on.....go finger The manual is no help either, I only read Gaylick I mean Gaelic. Dude....take that frivkin tank off...there's all kinds of fun stuff to play with under there
  11. Yeah, what he said  The covetted 02.....mmmmmmmmm 8)
  12. That tire was B A L D when it unzipped itself. I was past the wear bars when I left Towanda. I rode 1400 miles to my first stay over. Got up early and planned on making it home. Time was my priority, not a fresh tire Got about 400 miles and to the west edge of Nebraska when it let loose at 100 MPH  We all live and learn, don't we :?: The Ride On really couldn't do anything with a 10 inch long rip down the center of the tire
  13. Can you put them in a smilie face pattern?? I'll have mine in the mail to you ASAP
  14. Plugs are your friends. So long as the hole is nearer to the center than the edge/sidewall of the tire, there shouldn't be any issues. I rode a plugged rear Pilot Sport last year for a couple of months, no issues at all. I plugged it in my driveway with a flat repair kit. The only heat I used was from a disposable Bic lighter, after the plug was set and trimmed off. The flame sorta vulcanized the plug to the rubber. Now I use Ride On. I swear by it, as I have in other threads. The stuff is a couple of bucks each tire change. I have had 1 hole that I know of, and the goo plugged it instantly. I only noticed it when I was washing the Bird, very fine hole in the center of the tread, marked with a itsy bitsy tiny white mark from the goo sealing it  The tire was still at 36 PSI too

    Paint Q

    Paint Q

There is some special auto body tape that the shops use when painting like you are. I think I saw some at AutoZone, I'll keep an eye out next time I'm there
  17. I gave my stockers away. Funny thing. As soon as I posted pics of my waves, I got an inox full of requests for the stockers. Sent em to the 1st guy that asked
  18. I'll keep waiting.....want to know this too BTW, sweet blingin XX 8)
  19. Nope, all my research yielded you must use the XX disks  Sorry bro, but good work on getting it all back together
  20. Mine bolted right up, both holes  No nuts, the holes are threaded in the frame. Shouldn't need any modifications. I dunno about the grounding question.....but once you change it, it's gonna be a loooooong time before you need to touch it again. It takes me about 5 minutes to get the tail piece off now Good luck, let us know how it works out
  21. What Mike said Same directions I followed, no surprises  I have a 97.
  22. I replaced mine at 20K with an 01 R1. Piece of cake to install, and I gained like 37 horsepower
