  1. Have you checked the Fault Codes in the ECU? You can find the procedure and the codes in the Service Manual. If you don't have a manual, you can download one here "Manual".
  2. I love my No-Mar too. Buying tires on the internet and mounting them at home is the only way to go.
  3. I just bought a set of Michelin Pilot Power 2CT's from these guys. I ordered them on Monday and the tires were on my porch on Wednesday. Sportbike Track Gear was $13 cheaper than Southwest Moto Tires and the service was just as good. I didn't find the Michelins as cheap anywhere else. I give Sportbike Track Gear a "Thumbs Up" and will probably use them again.
  4. Very nice! I like the lights.

    Fork Oil Change

I think my bike uses the 140mm measurement too. I removed my forks for the oil change, but I did not remove the cartridge. I just drained the oil, filled the forks with kerosene and pumped the hell out of the rod. I changed the kerosene a few times and was surprized at how much shit came out of the tubes. After the kero wash, I turned the tubes upside down and pumped the rod until all the kero was out of the forks and cartridges. That was 10k miles ago and I've had no problems with the forks.
  6. I have VFR bars and Galfer lines. I ordered the Galfers 2" longer than stock and it was a little too much. I would order either stock length or maybe 1" longer if I were doing it again. I bought mine from CycleBrakes.com. At that time, several years ago, they would supply the lines in any length you wanted.
  7. I've been running Pilot Powers on my XX and I like them. I get about 3k miles on a rear, but I tend to ride a little aggressively. The PP's give good grip and handling, so I don't mind replacing the rear every once in a while.
  8. Good luck with your bike Stan. I hope you get it adjusted just like you want it.
  9. I'm glad you enjoyed the link Stan. The rebound adjustment is on the top and the compression adjustment is on the bottom of my Ducati forks and on any other bike I've seen with adjustable damping. Your Kawasaki forks may be different though. Another point. Adjusting preload on your springs is the way to set your sag, not moving the forks in the triple trees. (I don't agree when the article says that moving the forks in the triple trees is a substitute for preload adjustment.) Sag is the difference between fully unloaded suspension and the travel you get when you sit on your bike. Adjusting the spring preload is the way to change your sag on either front or rear suspension. Your new fork may have an adjustable preload. It should be a large nut at the top of the fork. (See the diagram in the link I posted.) If your forks do not have a preload adjuster, you will have to change the length of the spacers in your fork tubes. Your rear shock definitely has a preload adjuster.
  10. Here's a link to another suspension set-up guide. I posted this in the "Weaving" thread too. Suspension Set-up Guide
  11. Since you guys are talking about suspension set-up, I thought I'd post this old link. It has some good info. Suspension Set-Up Guide

    dashboard

I added a rubber washer to my instrument cluster mounts years ago. Just pop the windshield off and you can see what you need to do.
  13. Yep. The XX uses a metal crush washer on the drain plug.
  14. If you decide to sell separate parts, I want the tail piece if it's in good shape.
  15. I wish I could help, but mine is an older unit with the magnet and reed switch. As for oil, I'm using Mobil 1 gear oil.
  16. Those prices don't look too good to me. For example, a rear cowl from Ron Ayers costs less than $390 USD.
  17. I'm running Pilot Powers on my XX. The first rear lasted about 3,000 miles and the front is still going strong at about 5,500 miles. I really like the handling and grip so I don't mind the reduced mileage.

    No-Mar

If you don't have room in your shop or garage, you might check out the hitch mount. It fits in a 2" trailer hitch receiver. No-Mar didn't have the "Jr. Pro" and "Pro" models when I got mine about 2-1/2 years ago, but the "Classic" is plenty good for everything I've done. I can change a tire in a couple of minutes with very little effort. I also like being able to change tires at home any time I want to do it. It's nice not paying someone to do a half-assed job and scratch my wheels.

    No-Mar

I have one of their "Classic" changers and one of their wheel balancers. I love these tools and I've used them a lot. I'll bet I've paid for the tools with the money I've saved changing tires for me and my buddies.
  20. I've had good luck with Parts411.com. Others have used White Buffalo and seem to like them.
  21. I drained my forks and washed them out with out with kerosene. It seemed to work well and I've had no problems with them afterward. I replaced my stock springs with 1.05kg/mm springs from Jaws. I used 10wt. Silkolene Race fork oil and it works fine for my weight and riding style.
  22. You have to change the length of the spacer on top of the spring to change the sag. Longer spacer = less sag. Shorter spacer = more sag.
