  1. Prolly your new chain & sprockets. What front sprocket did you put on. When you are going 60ish and hear it, pull in the clutch and see if the noise goes away. Nott perfect, but if it stays around it is almost always your chain. Different chains make different noises and if you replaced the stock sprocket with the rubber dampner with one that doesn't have one it will make a little more noise. If that's the case nothing to worry over.
  2. post a link to a url and use my own words instead of what the link actually reads?
  3. yes, it's taller....everything is hard when you are around Todd.
  4. I always use baking soda with a little bit of water (just enough to make a paste). brush it on, you will see it working the just rinse it off with water (repeat as nessesary) and you are done. Wire brushing will get them clean but not as clean as the baking soda.

    Decks

That's gonna look good! Nice work!! I like how you did the footings, that's the right way. See so many done half-assed. You can do that but you can't change your oil? WTF?
  6. I would think that premium fuel sits longer than the standards.
  7. That's what I was saying in a nutshell in my first post.
  8. Is this just after it has been sitting for a while?
  9. OCTANE DOES NOT = HP!! no way around that arguement. Shitty gas will slow performance but not octane.
  10. The ONLY reason to use a high octane fuel is if you are running an advanced ign. curve (PowerCommander) or have a modified engine. Otherwise you are TOTALLY throwing you money away. edit... Try to get your fuel from the same reputable staion as much as possible. I noticed that my gas mileage in my truck sucked when I was getting my fuel from this one placed and my mileage improved drasically when I switched stations. FWIW
  11. Flex, You are only about 2 hrs from me, we should meet up a do a ride somewhere between us sometime.
  12. Shit dude, what kind of tank do you run on that bird? I can only get 180 before I gotta stop for gas! :stickpoke:
  13. long story. Went to changed oil. Cracked the oil pan at some point. Might have been when I went to loosen the drain bolt, which had set so tight I was practically tipping the motorcycle off the center stand to get it to come loose. Because in any rate, when I replaced the bolt I had a small leak (which might have been the cracked pan already) So I tightened the bolt a bit more in an attempt to stop the leak which I thought was coming from the plug and stripped the oil pan. But I assumed it was the bolt not tight enough because of being stripped. Went and got an oversize drain plug bolt and put that in. STILL leaked. That's when I looked under the pan and saw the crack. So either I cracked the pan breaking loose the bolt in the first place, or the oversize plug split the pan. (I'm thinking it was getting the bolt loose in the first place.) So I ordered a new pan, and you have to remove the headers to get the pan off/on. NeXXt time pay a pro to do it for you. Fucking rookie. j/k I hope it all "worked out" for you.

    Chain Life

I dunno if it's the correct way but the last two times I changed my chain one of the links was starting to fail. By that I could tell because it would make a pop sound everytime it made a revolution. I rode it about 1500 miles with it doing that the last time (not by choice but just trying to get home). You chain will let you know when it's done by starting to talk to you. Side note. I always change out the sprockets when I get a new chain, so they can all wear evenly.
  15. The hole, easy fix, Helicoil (or some other brand thread repair insert) http://www.cartools.com/Merchant2/merchant...ategory_Code=KM The how to... http://www.roadstarmagazine.com/modules.ph...article&sid=233 hope that helps.
  16. I usually clean all of the cozmoline (white shit it's packaged in) off with mineral spirits (it doesn't eat at the o-rings like gasoline would)
  17. Cool. Thanks for posting that.

    clutch whine

What kind of meal goes best with that?
  19. Put it up on the center stand get the weight off of the front end and see if they overtightend your steering stem. Possible, not likely, but an easy test to get that crossed off the list as probable causes.
  20. Plus the cost issue. Snap ons are quite expensive where as the craftsman are ALOT less. You don't really compromise much quality, if your craftsman breaks or is out of calibration take it back, get a brand new one. Done. Don't get me wrong, I like snap-on but I really don't see the point in paying that much.
  21. If you want darker front signals you can do them yourself or send yours to someone to do them for you. Looky here: http://cbr.geckobox.net/forum/viewtopic.ph...d+front+signals
