  1. I would be to tempted to lube it up and shove that in and out of a certain hole over and over repeadiatly till I tired myself out and fell asleep. I agree on the 5 minute epoxy or maybe even try some high temp RTV silicone.
  2. Looks good on the ti bird.. Will look even better on my silver bird  been stuck between making my lens black, or getting the clear....
  3. Anyone got pic's of the intergrated signal tail light? I been looking at them, plus the front clear lense with the chrome bulbs. John is there any single filament bulbs chrome/orange for the front that would only have them light up when you hit the turn signal switch? I know I ask alot of questions
  4. I can change the plugs on my 02 in about 30 minutes.. I use the under the tank method myself.. Save yourself the money and do it.. Besides its fun to learn about how they are built and stuff.
  5. Close... I actually work at the Blue Oyster
  6. So, your clutch 'bites' better afterwards? Just check my avatar...... carefully I can only see a person on a gay blue bike
  7. I myself enjoyed the stealth of the stock pipe, but hated the looks of them. I went on a search for something quiet and looking good. I went with the Leo Vince pipes. I had to keep the dual look. Birds with a single sided pipe just look GAY. They are pretty quiet, look good, and as a bonas I have only seen 2 or 3 other bikes that actually had Leo Vince pipes. So as most people have never seen a XX, I got a rare bike with rare pipes.
  8. I am not to concerned about my speedo or odo accuracy for gas mileage. if you want your gas mileage that accurate then you better also take into concideration of air temp, pressure, humidity, tire pressure, and even drag of you sitting on the bike just tooling along or you tucked in.
  9. Let me know when and where  I never rode a "black" blackbird... be interesting to see if they are faster than my silver like everyone says
  10. Scot, how about we meet up and swap bikes and see if its you or not
  11. I hope you were kidding. +1 Again! Come that shit has to be true cause he read it on the internet or of some Hardley Ableson idiot's pudding bowl helmet..
  12. Don't worry I did the same thing like 2 weeks of owning the XX.. was simple to do since my buddy was there with me on his XX also... "Can I borrow your tool set?"
  13. Damn man, where you been hiding at? Glad to hear she's ok its sucks.. Saddle bags saved me alot of money when my foot slipped in the gravel one day. Give Plasticweld a shout, he is a member here but haven't seen him in a while. real name is Bob at www.empiregp.com He matched my silver to paint my grab rail plugs...
  14. of the idiot squid or of the pipes when they get Jet Hot coated?
  15. 69 ft lbs is the correct torqued amount for your rear axle Never use the torque by feel amount.. Or just watch American Chopper and do the opposite of what they do.. I wanna beat them with a fucking torque wrench so bad its not even funny..
  16. Tig would look better brazing should work..
  17. Sounds like your starter was kinda "stuck" Like mentioned above. Thats why it didn't go "click" "click" You had plenty of juice but with the starter not spinning over you just put a huge load on the battery and this caused the lights to dim.. I would recommend the tapping method first like AZXX mentioned. My lawn tractor has this problem from time to time. Alittle rattle with a screw driver and fires right up.. I am thinking of maybe putting some graphite on it to maybe help seat it back to normal after it fires up..
  18. Will look more into it and ask about price for doing it... The only way your going to get a 20hp gain in any bike is some serious motor work, or slapping a bottle or turbo on it.
  19. Hmm.. I am curious to see what it does.. It does look pretty after being done. I had one squid on a 1200 bandit that said he gained like 20 hp after getting it done..
  20. What are some of the advantages of this stuff? Buddy at work was telling me his brother-in-law owns a performance shop and does exhaust with that jet hot coating stuff. He can get me a good deal on it. Is there any HP to be gained from this?
  21. correct... I asked the same question 3 yrs ago
  22. Whats wrong with that..
  23. Mental note to self. Do this today. Wait a minute. :? I keep the manual under the seat. I need the key to get to the manual; I need the manual to get a key. Write this number down in the manual.. As I keep mine at home.. Actually if you need to get under your seat and you don't have keys, just need a riding buddy.. I accidently locked my key under the seat about 2 weeks of getting my bird. Borrowed my buddies tools in his bird and took off the rear tail section and can do alot of amazing stuff with plastics removed..
  24. Since I did my radiator "blow job" and used DEX-COOL antifreeze I must do it again.. After just reading Cycle World a guy asks a question about doing the flush on his Super Hawk and just running plain water.. Wouldn't this be bad on the water pump? I would think distilled water alone in the system wouldn't offer much lubrication to the waterpump. I was planning on redoing my system with some engine ice. Never gets near freezing where my bike is anyways..
  25. that exhaust is super sweet.. 8)
