  1. I was putting new brakes on the boat trailer (another long fucking story), and ordered a kit with oil bath hubs. Trouble is, the oil seal is the wrong size. So I wonder if a special spindle is required for the oil bath hubs, or what?
  2. The ancient rule is to use high beams. This rule was created when headlamps used a basic chrome bowl and a 35w tungsten filament bulb. Today's headlight output is many times higher, and this no longer makes sense. I noticed a few years ago that people were turning left in front of me kind of often, or pulling out in front of me. I switched to low beam after having someone on a XX riding behind me, and noticing that I was fucking blind, and could not tell how far he was. You can't look straight at a XX with high beam on. So I think it's blinding people and making HARDER for them to judge distance.
  3. Why don't you just post the question or diagrams, you'll get an answer.
  4. I change oil on a very strict and scientific "sorta 6k" basis. Around 6k miles I start thinking about it, and planning to buy some stuff like a filter and the oil. Then I get a round tuit, and actually do it some time in the next 100-2000 miles. This methodology was fine for 130k miles on my last bike (an air-cooled Suzuki 1100). A guy bought it to put the motor in a buggy. He sent me the bearings and they looked fine, worn as expected for 130k miles of raping in the desert, but fine.
  5. I've got the special socket needed for removing the wheel bearing nut...

Then might as well toss out the tub.
  7. Fool, shoulda just continued the dig around the whole house, filled it with water and a couple gators, and made a moat! Fuck the council, let them come try to collect.
  8. Can't you just use whatever and then seal it?
  9. They're not "blown." They may be slowly leaking, but it's not something to rush to fix. Keep a close eye on this as they could start leaking more and could lube the brake pads if it gets severe.
  10.   Brakes stopped working??? I'd be on the phone to Honda not only for a free replacement of the valve, but a free package of fresh underwear too.
  11. Wal-mart sells the Purolator One filter re-marked as their own. The P1 is widely considered the best filter on the market. I've seen the comparison pics from a third party; very impressive. The 1991 RX-7 uses the same filter. This is how I found out; I put the XX filter on my RX-7, and noticed later.
  12. Each bag will accomodate an 18-pack of beer cans but you have to take out the top 6 and put them on the sides of the pack. They are great as far as looks, but you have to live with restrictions. Because of the shape you can only get soft/moldable/small items to fill up the space. I use canvas bags in them so I can pull out my stuff on overnighters.
  13. I ship out a lot of the NEP locks. In my opinion, they're better, and look better.
  14. Yup, that's my first thought; BAS.
  15. I'd much rather buy filters than fuck around with cleaning that thing every time I change the oil. Let's see, you'd have to buy 40 of the Purolator One filters to pay for it. That's 120,000 miles of riding if you use dino oil and change it every 3,000.
  16. I've been using the AFAM 16 tooth sprockets and recommend them. I can't tell any difference (other than better acceleration). It is very strange for the sprocket to be worn at that mileage. Have you seen it yourself? What's wrong with it?
  17. Well, you could just go back to OEM tires. Some people get 15k out of those (D205 or BT57 are OEM). They handle like shit, but some people get a lot of miles. Lots of people love the Pilot Road, better handling, maybe last nearly that. I get about 7k from a rear Avon AV46 and around double that from the AV45 front. I only got 8k from the D205, so that's not bad for a sticky sport tire that handles great.
  18. To answer the question on years, it's the second-generation model. Can't remember all the years, but 1991 is one of them (that's what I have, and I accidentally put the XX filter on it, which is how I figured out the similarity).
  19. This has been the story all along. I had this conversation three years ago with both the US guy (can't remember his name) and Lionel in the UK who is one of the lead engineers. I've run the "B" tire and I can tell you that it gave 30-40% less miles and less grip. It sucked.
  20. Point of order: Those people are NOT genetically deficient. They have an EXTRA chromosome.
  21. I've done just over 50 miles on the reserve lamp.
  22. It's the same filter as the Mazda RX-7, and Wal-mart stocks it. The Wal-mart house brand is actually a Purolator one, which is regarded as one of the best filters on the planet.
  23. That's not a mismatch at all. Avon specifically makes all of the tires within a line compatible. I used to run the 39 front and 36 rear because the 35 front was horrible and the 40 rear wore out too fast.
  24. It cracks me up that people don't know there are insects in nearly everything they eat. There are rodents in cane sugar--guarantee it (my dad used to run a sugar processing facility--he's got some stories to make you swear off sugar!). What's even funnier is the vegetarians who buy organic no-pesticide products are eating MORE meat/insects since they didn't use pesticides to drive them off. I saw a couple of lesbians carefully reading sugar labels in a supermarket a couple weeks ago, trying to decide which product was more green/organic/PC than the others. They were talking about being vegetarians. So I butted in and explained to them that organic sugar is full of rat carcasses and why. Loved the look on their faces. Bahahahahaha.
  25. Am I the only one who thought of a blowjob from a crack whore with Parkinson's when reading that subject line? Oh, I am. Nevermind. Very strange; the load is pretty minimal, though if it's imbalanced it can do weird things. Have you changed your fork height? Shock/rear ride height?
