  1. So get a generic tube clip. https://www.google.com/search?q=tube+clips&source=lnms&tbm=isch&sa=X&ved=0ahUKEwjF2NH_46LgAhVwCDQIHSBgBNAQ_AUIDigB&biw=1809&bih=1206&dpr=2

  3. Sorry, that would require actually reading the thread. The only message I had read was the one where he had a hissy fit. I don't have an opinion on the subject matter, didn't read it.
  4. Yeah, I'd never used it, on any forum. But on an RV forum with light traffic, I decided to try it, because there are SOOO damn many sub-forums with just a message or two. So then I decided to try it here, and unfortunately read this crap which I'd avoided opening at all, considering the OP. Lesson learned. I'd make a "your mom" joke now, but then, that would be, you know, kind of creepy.
  5. For some people, when they determine their version of reality, there is no way to change it. Reference Terry and the "high power assault weapons." No matter what evidence is posted, there will always be a deflection or other way to reframe the discussion.
  6. "NEVER RESPOND TO ME AGAIN I'M DONE WITH YOU!!" (Proceeds to continue to have fits and/or argue and/or whine about the other person responding.)
  7. Only one person here had a little bitchy hissy fit and threw out a bunch of racial shit and insults. Hmmm.
  8. LOL! There's not one thread where you don't show that you're just nuts, is there? I had mostly ignored this thread, and this morning I used the "next thread" button that I never do, and saw this idiocy. I'll never use that button again.
  9. Yeah, I really need to add one to the China bike. So this is a good one?
  10. Also the auto-disconnect won't help with just self-discharge. Only for the bike having a vampire draw. What is that on the BB? Seems like it should be super low?
  11. I didn't, and believe Oscar didn't either. Your answer is what I wanted. MOST of these batteries do not have a balancing port, which was why I asked. So you answered the real question. The others claim to have internal circuits for protection and balancing. The engineer answer: Tiny loads are applied on the balance leads to keep individual cells from overcharging while the main circuit is supplying enough voltage to bring up the lowest cells. This is because in any series battery, some cells will always have a different state of charge. RC batteries all come with a balancing lead which connects directly to each cell individually.
  12. That doesn't answer the question. Also I just realized that the LiFePo4 battery packs in my RC boat are much more powerful than a bike battery, and the motor draws more power than a starter motor. Funny.
  13. They need to be charged every single time you start the vehicle, and I've never seen a vehicle-type Li-anything battery with balance leads.
  14. Define "long" storage. After a year or two, it might need a recharge, but not a full charge. It depends on the temperature. They need a specific charger if they are raw batteries. The ones sold as vehicle batteries have a charge controller built in.
  15. Lots of people also use them in RVs. If you believe their numbers, once properly configured, the "cost" is purely up front. The total dollars for amps for time is actually much lower. I have no idea how true that is for bike batteries, but suspect that it's actually cheaper to go LiFePo4 if your bike is a keeper. I've only put lead-acid into things I'm not sure about keeping. I suspect the trailer is a 1-3 year experiment to see which way we go next (bigger, or nothing). It got two GC2 6V batteries. Otherwise I would have made a different choice.
  16. That's what I put in the K1200RS. It cranked like I'd plugged the battery cables into a wall outlet. Interesting side note...this is actually GOOD for all the components involved. Motors, contactors, and related items all last longer if you provide lots of voltage and they are spinning at their native speed. When motors slow down due to voltage loss, current goes up.
  17. By a huge amount. Only brand I've used is Battery Tender. When my current standard bike battery dies, I will buy another BT brand LiFePo4.
  18. Setting the gears is a black art, not science. The rest is straightforward. I'm currently putting off a re-gear of the Jeep because the one dude everyone in AZ went to died.
  19. I need a "no step on snek" poster in that room. There must be a large file I can print. I didn't think about how bare it is until I looked back at my own photo.
  20. The TV is on a rotating mount so it can face anywhere. The dogs love to watch Secret Life of Pets while they are on the treadmill. Our bigger dog HATES the weiner dog though, and likes the rest of them.
  21. I love my Axo Striker boots for just that reason, and because I can pop them off quickly to put on other shoes. Which is really what you should do. Nothing with good riding protection is flexible enough for all-day wear.
  22. Pretty sure it's the second. But I forgot what the first was.
